Now cast in upcoming Bong Joon-Ho directed film “Parasite” are Lee Sun-Kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Jang Hye-Jin, Choi Woo-Sik and Park So-Dam. They join already announced lead actor Song Kang-Ho in the movie.
With Bong Joon-Ho’s background of directing sci-fi’ish films like “The Host” or “Snowpiercer” and a title of “Parasite” one may assume his next film is a film about creatures, but the film is actually a family drama. The film also doesn’t have any parasites in the literal sense. Story for “Parasite” will follow two families that resemble each other, but also look different. Lee Sun-Kyun and Cho Yeo-Jeong will play a married couple in one family. They have a high school aged daughter and elementary school aged son. Casting for their kids will take place through auditions. Meanwhile, Jang Hye-Jin, Choi Woo-Sik and Park So-Dam will play the wife, son and daughter of the other family headed by Song Kang-Ho’s character.
Filming and post-production work for “Parasite” will take place in 2018 and the film will be released sometime in 2019.
