Seiyo Uchino cast in WOWOW drama “Gold Sunset”

Seiyo Uchino is cast in new WOWOW drama series “Gold Sunset.” The drama series is written and directed by Sumio Omori, who previously worked with Seiyo Uchino as the screenwriter for 1999 movie “The Black House” and 2007 NHK drama series “Samurai Banners.” In “Gold Sunset,” Seiyo Uchino will play a mysterious middle aged man. He often screams in his apartment and at the park. A young neighbor takes an interest in his activities and learns about a theater group.

“Gold Sunset” consists of 6 episodes and will first air sometime next year in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kotone Uemura is a middle school student who carries an emotional scar in her mind. She lives in an old apartment. One day, she hears a strange shouting voice from her neighbor. She figures out that the voice is of Isamu Akutsu (Seiyo Uchino). He lives next door and he is middle aged, but his identity is unknown. Kotone Uemura becomes suspicious about him, who shouts alone or sometimes does weird things. She decides to follow Isamu Akutsu and finds him in the park. She learns why he makes the strange sounds and becomes interested in him. This leads her to meet theater company Torasu Theater. There, Kotone Uemura meets various people who have their own emotional wounds and she begins to face her own problem. The woman that Isamu Akutsu keeps looking for and his hidden past are also revealed.
