Teaser trailer added for upcoming KBS2 drama series “Master: God of Noodles” starring Chun Jung-Myung, Kong Seung-Yeon, Cho Jae-Hyun & Jung Yoo-Mi. Drama series is based on comic “Kooksooui Sin” by Park In-Kwon.
“Master: God of Noodles” first airs April 20, 2016 in South Korea.
Filming for upcoming movie “The Last Princess” (English working title), starring Son Ye-Jin & Park Hae-Il, finished March 23, 2016. Filming took approximately 4 months to finish and filming took place in South Korea and Japan. Story for “The Last Princess” takes place in the early 20th century, while Korea is under Japan’s occupation. Son Ye-Jin plays the last princess, Princess Deokhye. After she is taken against her will to Japan, she meets up with a Korean freedom fighter played by Park Hae-Il. Actress Son Ye-Jin previously worked with movie director Hur Jin-Ho in 2005 film “April Snow.”
“The Last Princess” will be released sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.
Actor Park Hae-Jin has been offered to reprise his role from tvN drama series “Cheese in the Trap” for upcoming movie version “Cheese in the Trap.” If Park Hae-Jin accepts, he will play Yoo Jung again. Currently, Park Hae-Jin is “postively considering” the offer. Park Hae-Jin does have a condition that if he were to accept the role, he wants the original webcomic writer Soon Ggi to take part in the film. Movie version of “Cheese in the Trap” will be a joint production between South Korean and Chinese companies.
Currently, actress Kim Go-Eun, who played the lead female role in the tvN drama series version, has not been offered a role in the upcoming movie version. Seo Kang-Joon though was offered to reprise his role in the movie version two months ago and he has yet to make a final decision.
Lee Sung-Min, Cho Jin-Woong &Kim Sung-Kyun are cast in new movie “Sheriff” (literal title). In the movie “Sheriff,” Lee Sung-Min plays a former detective who considers himself the sheriff of his neighborhood. A flashy businessman played by Cho Jin-Woong then moves into the neighborhood and the ex-detective suspects he is a drug offender. Kim Sung-Kyun plays the brother-in-law of the ex-detective and his assistant in their investigation.
Filming for “Sheriff” begins this July in South Korea.
Teaser trailer for upcoming movie “Sanada Ten Braves” starring Kankuro Nakamura, Tori Matsuzaka, Yuko Oshima & Kento Nagayama. Movie is based on the stage play “Sanada Juyushi” by Nozomi Makino and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.
“Sanada Ten Braves” will be released September 22, 2016 in Japan.
Gong Myung, Lee Tae-Sun & L.Joe (‘TEEN TOP’) are cast in supporting roles for upcoming SBS drama series “Entertainer” starring Ji Sung & Hyeri.
The three performers will play members of fictitious music group ‘Ddanddara’ along with Kang Min-Hyuk (‘CNBLUE’). The band is formed by Shin Suk-Ho (Ji Sung).
For the drama series, Kang Min-Hyuk will play the vocalist of the band Jo Ha-Neul. His character is the younger brother of Jung Geu-Rin (Hyeri).
Gong Myung will play Kayle. His character is the guitarist of the band and graduated from Juilliard School.
L.Joe will play Seo Jae-Hoon. His character is the drummer of the band. He first took up the drums just to place it onto his resume, but he takes an interest in the drums. He is a student from a prestigious university.
Lee Tae-Sun will play Na Yeon-Soo. His character is the bassist of the band. Na Yeon-Soo is also a single father of a 5-year-old son.
“Entertainer” will first air April 20, 2016 in South Korea.
Actor Yoon Kye-Sang has been offered a co-lead role in upcoming tvN drama series “The Good Wife” also starring Jeon Do-Yeon and Yoo Ji-Tae. The drama series is a remake of U.S. television series “The Good Wife.” Yoon Kye-Sang is currently “positively considering” the offer.
If Yoon Kye-Sang accepts his offer, he will play Seo Joong-Won. His character is a friend of Kim Hye-Kyung (Jeon Do-Yeon) and the president of a law firm. Even though Kim Hye-Kyung and Seo Joong-Won are friends, they have feelings for each other.
“The Good Wife” first airs sometime this July in South Korea.
Namgung Min is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “The Beauty of the Beast” (literal title). Early working title was “Yasoowa Minyeo” (literally “The Beauty and the Beast”). Meanwhile, actress Baek Jin-Hee has been offered the lead female role and she is currently “positively considering” the offer.
In drama series “The Beauty of the Beast,” Namgung Min plays main character Ahn Dan-Tae. His character fights well and he gets wrongly accused of crime that leads him to jail. After he is released, he eventually becomes a human rights attorney and the successor of a major corporation. This is Namgung Min first lead acting role for a major broadcasting station.
“The Beauty of the Beast” first airs May 14, 2016 in South Korea (takes over the Saturday and Sunday 10PM time slot after “Mrs. Cop 2”).
Main trailer for added for movie “Twisted Justice” starring Gou Ayano, Shido Nakamura & Pierre Taki. Movie is based on a true story of a police officer gone bad and directed Kazuya Shiraishi (“The Devil’s Path“).
“Twisted Justice” will be released June 25, 2016 in Japan.
