Uee offered lead role in MBC drama series “Night Light”

Uee from Kpop group “After School” has been offered the lead female role in upcoming MBC drama series “Night Light” (literal title). If she accepts the role, Uee will play Lee Se-Jin. Her character’s parents died when she was little and she grew up poor. An incident causes Lee Se-Jin’s life to change. Currently, Uee is “positively considering” the offer.

“Night Light” is scheduled to air beginning this November in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Woman with a Suitcase“).

Ep.6 still images from SBS drama series “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”

Here’s new ep.6 still images from currently airing SBS drama series “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” starring Lee Joon-Gi, IU and Kang Ha-Neul.

The still images are of Lee Joon-Gi, IU and Kang Ha-Neul. The scene from the still images has Hae-Soo (IU) potentially becoming a sacrificial lamb in an arranged marriage. Wang So (Lee Joon-Gi) and Wang Wook (Kang Ha-Neul) try to save her.

Ep.6 of “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” airs later tonight in South Korea.

Release date & supporting cast update for live-action film “March Comes in Like a Lion”

Release date & supporting cast updated for upcoming live-action films “March Comes in Like a Lion” and “March Comes in Like a Lion 2.”

The films are now set for release March 18, 2017 & April 22, 2017 respectively in Japan. Also new supporting cast actors announced for the film are Issei Takahashi, Ryo Iwamatsu, Shigeru Saiki, Tomoya Nakamura, Hiroyuki Onoue, Eita Okuno, Masahiro Komoto and Yuka Itaya. Both films are based on manga series “San gatsu no Lion” by Chica Umino and stars Ryunosuke Kamiki.

Nijiro Murakami & Madoka Yoshida cast in movie “Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi”

Nijiro Murakami and Madoka Yoshida are cast in upcoming movie “Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi.” Movie is based on 2015 light novel “Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi” by Hirotaka Akagi and directed by Kenji Nakanishi (“Hana no Ato“). Also cast in the film in supporting roles are Rena Kato (‘AKB48’), Mana Kinjo, Yuki Yamada, Akiko Kikuchi and Manami Honjou.
Story for “Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi” has Nijiro Murakami & Madoka Yoshida playing high school students who form a band to play at a school festival. The girl collapses after their performance and becomes hospitalized. It turns out she has a terminal disease and dies a few weeks later. The boy then travels back in time to when he first met her.
Filming for “Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi” begins October 1, 2016 and the movie will be released autumn, 2017 in Japan.

Rin Takanashi cast in Hulu drama series “Daisho”

Rin Takanashi is cast in upcoming Hulu drama series “Daisho” co-starring Shun Oguri. In the online streaming drama series, Rin Takanashi will play lead female character Makoto Shiraishi. She has as a strong sense of justice and works as an attorney. Makoto Shiraishi works at her father’s law office with her fiance Keisuke (Shun Oguri). Something about Keisuke gives Makoto Shiraishi strange vibes and she begins to investigate into his past. She feels fear and insecurity.

“Daisho” will begin to stream on Hulu sometime this autumn in Japan and USA.

KBS in discussions to extended drama series “Love in the Moonlight” by 2 episodes

KBS is in discussions to extended popular KBS2 drama series “Love in the Moonlight,” starring Park Bo-Gum & Kim You-Jung, by 2 episodes. If the discussions are successful, “Love in the Moonlight” will go up to a total of 20 episodes for the series. Ratings for last night’s episode #6 came in first place in Seoul for the first time with 21% viewership ratings according to TNmS.

Park So-Dam cast in movie “Fifth Column”

Actress Park So-Dam is cast in upcoming movie “Fifth Column” starring Song Kang-Ho, Jung Woo & Ryoo Seung-Ryong. Movie will be directed by Won Shin-Yeon (“The Suspect“). In the upcoming film, Park So-Dam will play a staff staff sergeant. Story for the film has Kang Jong-Duk (Song Kang-Ho) investigating a case 15 days before he is due to be discharged from the military. He soon finds himself up against a conspiracy.

Filming for “Fifth Column” begins later this year in South Korea.
