First character posters for SBS drama series “Saimdang, Light’s Diary” starring Lee Young-Ae and Song Seung-Heon. In the upcoming drama series, Lee Young-Ae will play 2 characters. Lee Young-Ae will play university professor Seo Ji-Yoon in the present day and historical figure Shin Saimdang. Actor Song Seung-Heon will play Lee Gyeom. His character only loves Shin Saimdang throughout his lifetime.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Shopping King Louie” starring Seo In-Guk & Nam Ji-Hyun took place July 15, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. At the first script reading, main cast members Seo In-Guk, Nam Ji-Hyun, Yoon Sang-Hyun & Im Se-Mi were all in attendance.
“Shopping King Louie” will premiere either September 14 or September 21, 2016 in South Korea (Thanksgiving holiday occurs around that time so exact date is still in flux).
Jung Woo and Ryoo Seung-Ryong cast in new movie “Fifth Column” (literal title) starring Song Kang-Ho. Movie will be directed by Won Shin-Yeon (“The Suspect“).
In the upcoming film, Song Kang-Ho will play military official Kang Jong-Duk who is set to be discharged in 15 days. He then begins an investigation. Jung Woo will play an assistant to Kang Jong-Duk during the investigation. Ryoo Seung-Ryong will play Hyun Joo-Whe. His character leads a powerful group and is involved in a conspiracy.
Filming for “Fifth Column” begins later this year in South Korea.

Yui Aragaki is cast in new TBS live-action drama series “Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu.” Drama series is based on manga series of same name by Tsunami Umino and directed by Fuminori Kaneko. In the upcoming drama series, Yui Aragaki plays 25-year-old Mikuri Moriyama. Her character doesn’t have a job or boyfriend. She then lands a job as a housekeeper for 36-year-old Hiramasa Tsuzaki. When it looks like she will lose her job, she and her employer decide to get married to continue their working relationship.
“Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu” first airs this October in Japan.
Teaser poster added for upcoming live-action film “One Week Friends” starring Kento Yamazaki & Haruna Kawaguchi. Movie is based on manga series “Isshukan Friends” by Matcha Hazuki and directed by Shosuke Murakami (“Train Man“). Teaser poster also reveals the movie will be released February 18, 2017 in Japan.
Ji Chang-Wook is now cast in upcoming tvN drama series “K2.” He will join already announced cast members Song Yoon-A, Lee Jung-Jin and Cho Seong-Ha. Yoona from idol group “Girls’ Generation” has been offered the lead female role and she is currently “positively considering” the offer. This is her second time being offered the role, as she declined the role earlier.
In the upcoming drama series, Ji Chang-Wook will play Kim Je-Ha. His character is a former mercenary soldier and known also as K2. He is then hired as bodyguard by the wife (Song Yoon-A) of a presidential candidate.
If Yoona accept the lead female role, she will play Ko An-Na. Her character is the secret daughter of the presidential candidate.
K2 will first air September 9, 2016.
Yeon Jeong-Hun had been offered the lead role in upcoming KBS1 drama series “Dasan Jeong Yak-Yong.” Yeon Jeong-Hun is currently “postively considering” the offer. If he he accepts, he will play title character Jeong Yak-Yong. He is a real historical figure who fights to carry out reformation policy for the future of Joseon.
“Dasan Jeong Yak-Yong” will first air January, 2017 in South Korea.
