Yoon Gyun-Sang & Lee Sung-Kyung are now cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Doctors” starring Park Shin-Hye & Kim Rae-Won.
In drama series “Doctors,” actor Yoon Gyun-Sang will play Jung Yoon-Do. His character became a doctor to avoid his father, who is the president of a large company, and competition to become the successor at his father’s company. He is smart and skillful as a doctor. Actress Lee Sung-Kyung will play Jin Seo-Woo. She graduated from the same high school as Hye-Jung (Park Shin-Hye) . Jin Seo-Woo is now a completing a fellowship as a neurosurgeon. Her character is also a rival of Hye-Jung.
“Doctors” first airs June 20, 2016 in South Korea.
Gong Yoo is cast in new tvN drama series “Dokkaebi” which is scripted by Kim Eun-Sook (“Descendants of the Sun“). Drama series “Dokkaebi” features a unique fantasy-romance story. In the drama series, Gong Yoo will play a “dokkaebi” which is a type of monster/demon found in many Korean folktales. His character needs to marry a human bride, but he meets up with the Angel of Death who has amensia and begins to live with the Angel of Death.
“Dokkaebi” first airs November, 2016 in South Korea.
Rina Ikoma from idol group ‘Nogizaka46’ is cast in sequel film “Corpse Party: Book of Shadows.” The 2015 original film “Corpse Party” and sequel film “Corpse Party: Book of Shadows” are based on the video game “Corpse Party.” Also cast in “Corpse Party: Book of Shadows” are Nozomi Maeda, Ryousuke Ikeoka, Yoko Kita and Jun (Bee Shuffle), who all appeared in the first “Corpse Party” film, and new cast members Ren Ishikawa, Atomu Mizuishi and Tsunenori Aoki. Masashi Yamada also returns to direct “Corpse Party: Book of Shadows.”
“Corpse Party: Book of Shadows” will open July 30, 2016 in Japan.
Singer/actress Kwon Yuri (‘Girls’ Generation’) has been offered the lead female role in upcoming drama series “Gaia.” She is currently “positively considering” the offer. If Kwon Yuri accepts the offer, she will play a woman that is scripted as an ordinary woman. Her character becomes stranded on an island with a popular male idol group member due to a plane crash. Actor Kang Ha-Neul has been offered the lead male role of the idol group member and he is currently “positively considering” his offer. MBC is currently in negotiations to air the drama series tentatively this fall. The drama series is scripted by Song Ji-Na (“Faith“/”Healer“).
Koji Kikkawa is cast in upcoming live-action film “Himitsu The Top Secret” starring Toma Ikuta, Lisa Oda & Masaki Okada. In the upcoming film, Koji Kikkawa will play Kiyotaka Kainuma. His character is a brutal criminal who has killed 28 people and goes up against the 9th Forensics Laboratory led by Tsuyoshi Maki (Toma Ikuta) and Ikko Aoki (Masaki Okada). First script reading for tvN drama series “The Good Wife” starring Jeon Do-Yeon, Yoo Ji-Tae, Yoon Kye-Sang, Kim Seo-Hyung & Nana (‘After School’), took place recently at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea. Drama series is a remake of U.S. television series “The Good Wife.” tvN also has a remake of U.S. drama series “Entourage” scheduled to air this autumn in South Korea.
tvN is set to air drama series “Entourage,” starring Seo Kang-Joon, Cho Jin-Woong, Park Jung-Min, Lee Kwang-Soo & Lee Dong-Hwi, from late October, 2016 in South Korea. The drama series will air Fridays and Saturdays at 11:30 PM and will also air in China at the same time. “Entourage” is a remake of U.S. drama series of same name that aired from 2004-2011 on cable channel HBO. Filming for tvN’s version of “Entourage” will begin May 23, 2016 in South Korea.

The drama series is based on manga “Gu Gu Datte Neko de Aru” by Yumiko Oshima and directed by Isshin Inudo. In drama series “Gou Gou The Cat 2,” Assistant Minami (Haru Kuroki) prepares to work for herself as a mangaka. Main character Asako Kojimi (Rie Miyazaki) needs a new assistant and Iida (Atsuko Maeda) applies for the position.

Actress Park Shin-Hye is set to make a cameo appearance in upcoming SBS drama series “Entertainer” starring Ji Sung and Hyeri (‘Girl’s Day’).
On April 18, 2016, Park Shin-Hye arrived at the filming set of “Entertainer” and brought along a small coffee car to treat staff and performers. Park Shin-Hye worked with drama series director Hong Sung-Chang in 2009 SBS drama series “You’re Beautiful,” with screenwriter Yoo Young-A in movies “Miracle in Cell No.7” and “The Royal Tailor” and with actor Kang Min-Hyuk (‘CNBLUE’) in 2013 SBS drama series “The Heirs.” While visiting the filming set, director Hong Sung-Chang asked Park Shin-Hye to film a cameo appearance and she accepted. Her cameo appearance will appear in ep.3 of “Entertainer” which is scheduled to air April 27, 2016 in South Korea.
