Jung Yong-Hwa (‘CNBLUE’) & Lee Yeon-Hee are cast in new JTBC drama series “The Package” (working title). Also cast in the drama series are Choi Woo-Sik, Yoon Park, Ryu Seung-Soo, Ha Shi-Eun, Jeong Gyu-Su, Lee Ji-Hyeon & Park Yoo-Na. In the drama series, Lee Yeon-Hee will play Yoon So-So. She is a travel guide in France. Jung Yong-Hwa will play San Ma-Roo. He signs up for a package vacation in France led by Yoon So-So. The other supporting cast members listed above also are part of the package vacation. Filming for the drama series will also take place in France.
“The Package” will first air sometime next year in South Korea.
First script reading for upcoming MBC weekend drama series “Blow Breeze” starring Lim Ji-Yeon & Son Ho-Jun took place recently at MBC Dream Centre in Ilsan, South Korea. During the first script reading main cast members Lim Ji-Yeon, Son Ho-Jun, Han Joo-Wan, Oh Ji-Eun and others attended. The drama series features Lim Ji-Yeon playing a North Korean defector and her romance with a South Korean man played by Son Ho-Jun. The script also features conflicts over a 100 billion won inheritance.
“Blow Breeze” first airs August 20, 2016 in South Korea.
Actor Ji Sung has been offered the lead role in upcoming SBS drama series “Defendant” and he is currently “positively considering” the offer. If Ji Sung accepts the role, he will play main character Park Jung-Woo. His character is a prosecutor who wakes up one day in prison. He is falsely convicted of a crime and sentenced to death. He also has temporary amnesia. Park Jung-Woo must prove his innocence. The drama series will be directed by Jo Young-Gwang (“Hyde Jekyll, Me“) & scripted by Choi Soo-Jin (“City Hunter“).
“Defendant” will first air this November in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo“).
Main trailer added for upcoming fantasy-comedy film “Intern” starring Yuko Araki, Anri Okamoto & Toru Kazama. Movie is directed by long-time TBS drama series director Akio Yoshida. Story for “Intern” has the CEO of a company played by Toru Kazama saving the life of a young college student played by Yuko Araki. This in turn leads the God of Death to come down and warn the CEO that his days are now numbered if he doesn’t change the future. The CEO then takes over the body of the college student’s friend to help her become a successful intern.
“Intern” will be released November 5, 2016 in Japan.

Kento Yamazaki is cast in live-action film “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.” Movie is based on manga series “Saiki Kusuo no Sainan” by Shuichi Aso and will be directed by Yuichi Fukuda. In the upcoming film, Kento Yamazaki will play 16-year-old Kusuo Saiki. He was born with super psychic powers, but he hides his powers because he wants to live a normal life.
Filming for “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K” begins autumn, 2016 in Japan.
Yeon Jeong-Hun is now cast in upcoming KBS1 weekend drama series “Dasan Jeong Yak-Yong.” In the drama series, Yeon Jeong-Hun will play title character Jeong Yak-Yong. He attempts to reform politics during the Joseon era.
