First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Marriage Contract” (literal title) took place January 20, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. At the script reading, main cast members including Lee Seo-Jin, Uee from K-pop group ‘After School,’ Kim Kwang-Kyu, Kim Yoo-Ri were in attendance. The drama series was previously known as “100 Days Wife” (“100Ilui Anae”) before picking up the title of “Marriage Contract” (“Gyeolheun Gyeyak”).
“Marriage Contract” first airs February, 2016 in South Korea.
Teaser posters and teaser trailer added for upcoming horrors films “Dorome: Danshihen” & “Dorome: Joshihen” starring Aoi Morikawa, Yuta Koseki, Tatsuya Nakayama & Toko Miura. Both films are directed by Eisuke Naito (“Litchi Hikari Club“). Premise for the film takes place at a training camp for drama clubs from an all boys and an all girls high school. The two schools are set to merge in the coming year. At the training camp, the students witness horrific events and soon learn that “Dorome” is responsible.
“Dorome: Danshihen” & “Dorome: Joshihen” will have its world premiere at this year’s Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival (February 25-29, 2016) and then have its general release March 26, 2016 in Japan.
Yeo Jin-Goo is now cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Jackpot” (literal title) which has already cast Jang Keun-Suk. In the drama series, Yeo Jin-Goo will play King Yeongjo. Also, already cast in the drama series is actor Ji-Il-Joo. Actress Lim Ji-Yeon is still considering an offer to play the lead female role.
“Jackpot” first airs March 28, 2016 in South Korea.
First teaser trailer added for upcoming tvN drama series “Pied Piper” starring Shin Ha-Kyun, Jo Yoon-Hee & Yu Jun-Sang. The drama series follows a police crisis negotiation team as they try resolve cases peacefully. “Pied Piper” first airs this March in South Korea.
Trailer added for upcoming movie “Scanner” starring Mansai Nomura, Hiroyuki Miyasako, Fumino Kimura & Hana Sugisaki. The unusual premise for the film follows comedy duo member Kazuhiko Sengoku (Mansai Nomura) who has a special gift of reading memories from inanimate objects. He becomes involved in a missing woman case.
“Scanner” will be released April 29, 2016 in Japan.
Main trailer added for upcoming horror film “The Stare” starring Tomomi Itano (AKB48), Shunya Shiraishi & Mari Iriki. Movie is directed by Koichiro Miki (“Goose Bumps“). Story for “The Stare” follows an assistant director (Tomomi Itano) at a TV station. She investigates a case involving the death of a young man who claimed someone was watching him. Soon, the assistant director feels like someone is watching her.
“The Stare” will be released April 2, 2016 in Japan.
Teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “The Worst Bad Guys in Japan” starring Gou Ayano. In addition, supporting cast for the film has been revealed which includes Shido Nakamura, Young Dais, Yukio Ueno, Pierre Taki, Munetaka Aoki, Takayuki Kinoshita, Takuma Otoo, Haruna Yabuki, Kumi Takiuchi & Tomoya Nakamura. Movie is based on the autobiographical novel “Hajisarashi Hotsukaidoukei Akutoku Keiji no Kokuhaku” by Yoshiaki Inaba and centers around a corrupt cop. Kazuya Shiraishi (“The Devil’s Path“) directs the film.
“The Worst Bad Guys in Japan” opens June 25, 2016 in Japan.
Filming for upcoming crime-action film “Asura,” starring Jung Woo-Sung, Hwang Jung-Min & Ju Ji-Hoon finished January 25, 2016 in South Korea. Filming took about 4 months to finish. Movie is directed by Kim Sung-Su who has worked with actor Jung Woo-Sung in movies “Beat,” “City of the Rising Sun” and “Musa the Warrior.”
“Asura” will be released sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.
Teaser trailer for upcoming movie “Over Fence” starring Joe Odagiri, Yu Aoi & Shota Matsuda. Movie is based on a short story by Yasushi Sato (“Sketches of Kaitan City“/”The Light Shines Only There“) and directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita.
“Over Fence” will be released sometime this September in Japan.
Actor Jang Keun-Suk is now cast in upcoming SBS period drama series “Daebak.” In the drama series, Jang Keun-Suk will play the character of Dae-Gil. His character is scripted as the best gambler in the Joseon era. He enters into an epic wager with King Yeongjo. Actress Lim Ji-Yeon and actor Yeo Jin-Goo are still considering on offers to play the other main roles.
“Daebak” will consist of 24 episodes and first air March 28, 2016 in South Korea.
