Hiroshi Abe cast in movie “Shippu Rondo”

Hiroshi Abe is cast in upcoming movie “Shippu Rondo.” The movie is based on 2013 novel of same name by popular mystery writer Keigo Higashino and directed by Teruyuki Yoshida (“Japanese Salaryman NEO“).

Story for the film revolves around a stolen secret biological weapon from a university lab. Hiroshi Abe will play Kazuyuki Kuribayashi. His character works at the lab and he is tasked for a mission to retrieve the biological weapon. Filming for “Shippu Rondo” began February 24, 2016 and the movie will be released November 26, 2016 in Japan.

Poster and main trailer added for movie  “Anger” starring Ken Watanabe, Aoi Miyazaki, Kenichi Matsuyama, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Gou Ayano and directed by Sang-il Lee (“Villain“). The poster features the 7 main actors and actors which are Ken Watanabe, Aoi Miyazaki, Kenichi Matsuyama , Satoshi Tsumabuki , Gou Ayano, Suzu Hirose and Mirai Moriyama. The closeup photos of the performers were taken by well regarded photographer Kishin Shinoyama.

Release date for “Anger” is now set for September 17, 2016 in Japan.

Trailer for live-action film “Shojo Tsubaki”

Trailer for upcoming live-action film “Shojo Tsubaki” starring Risa Nakamura & Shunsuke Kazama. Movie is based on manga series “Shojo Tsubaki” by Suehiro Maruo  and directed by Torico. The colorful and eccentric film revolves a young teen girl (Risa Nakamura) who joins a circus troupe and a young man with supernatural powers (Shunsuke Kazama) who also joins the circus troupe. Movie looks like it will appeal to fans of director Tetsuya Nakashima.

“Shojo Tsubaki” will be released May 21, 2016 in Japan.

Minah cast in SBS drama series “The Beauty of the Beast”

Minah from idol group “Girl’s Day” is cast in SBS weekend drama series “The Beauty of the Beast” (literal title) also starring Namgung Min. Actress Oh Hyun-Kyung is also cast in a supporting role in the drama series.

In drama series “The Beauty of the Beast,” Minah will play Kong-Sim. Her character has a warm heart, but her older sister has everything including beautiful appearance. The drama series will revolve around the two sisters and two men. One of the men lives on a rooftop apartment and presumably poor, while the other man comes from a wealthy family. Casting for the older sister and the other main character has yet to be announced.

“The Beauty of the Beast” first airs May 14, 2016 in South Korea (takes over the time slot currently occupied by (“Mrs. Cop 2“).

Takumi Saito & Alice Hirose cast in movie “Something Blue”

Takumi Saito & Alice Hirose are cast in new movie “Something Blue.” Movie is based on novel “Something Blue” and directed by actor/director/screenwriter Takayuki Takuma. Story for “Something Blue” has Alice Hirose playing high school student Nozomi. Her character has a hearing disability and her mother always cut her hair, until she decides to go see a hairdresser for the first time. The hairdresser is played by Takumi Saito. Nozomi falls in love with the hairdresser, but she later learns that he has a fiance. Filming for the movie finished last autumn and took place in Enoshima Island, Kanagawa Prefecture.

“Something Blue” will be released July 2, 2016 in Japan.

First still images of Hyeri and Kang Min-Hyuk in SBS drama series “Entertainer”

Here’s the first still images of Hyeri (‘Girl’s Day’) and Kang Min-Hyuk (‘CNBLUE’) in upcoming SBS drama series “Entertainer” also starring Ji Sung. The still images are from a scene that was filmed recently in Busan, South Korea. In the drama series, Hyeri and Kang Min-Hyuk play older sister and younger brother.

Filming for KBS2 drama series “Uncontrollably Fond” finishes

Filming for upcoming KBS2 drama series “Uncontrollably Fond” starring Kim Woo-Bin and Bae Suzy finishes tomorrow April 12, 2016. Actor Kim Woo-Bin actually finished filming his scenes last week. Filming for the drama series took about 4 and half months to complete. In addition, ep.1 air date for “Uncontrollably Fond” is still on target for July 6, 2016 in South Korea. The drama series will air Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10PM taking over the time slot held by “The Master of Revenge” (literal title “Master: God of Noodles”).
