Miki Nakatani is cast in upcoming TV Tokyo drama special “Mohouhan.” The 1 episode drama special is based on novel “Mohouhan” by Miyuki Miyabe. 2002 movie “Copycat Killer,” starring Masahiro Nakai, Kanji Tsuda & Takashi Fujii is also based on the same Miyuki Miyabe novel.
“Mohouhan” will air sometime later this year in Japan.

MBC has decided to air upcoming drama series “Woman with a Suitcase” and offered the lead role to actress Choi Ji-Woo. Currently, Choi Ji-Woo is “positively considering” the offer. The drama series was first scheduled to air on cable channel tvN after “Dear My Friends,” but was cancelled for various reasons including delays. If Choi Ji-Woo accepts the offer she will play Cha Geum-Joo. Her character worked as a manager at an attorney’s office, but gets arrested. Afterwards, she rebuilds her life and career to become an attorney.
“Woman with a Suitcase” will first air September 19, 2016 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Monday & Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Monster“).

First script reading for upcoming SBS drama series “Jealousy Incarnate,” starring Cho Jung-Seok, Kong Hyo-Jin & Ko Gyung-Pyo, took place recently in South Korea. The drama series has Cho Jung-Seok playing Lee Hwa-Shin. His character is a confident reporter. Kong Hyo-Jin plays Pyo Na-Ri. Her character works as a weather caster. She has a strong sense of survival. Ko Gyung-Pyo will play Ko Jung-Won. His character hails from a rich family that runs a famous brand clothing store. He does have a warm heart. These three characters become involved in a love triangle.

Aoi Morikawa is cast in upcoming period film “Hana Ikusa” starring Mansai Nomura, Kamejiro Ichikawa, Kiichi Nakai, Kuranosuke Sasaki and Koichi Sato. Movie is based on 2011 novel “Hana Ikusa” by Tadashi Onitsuka and directed by Tetsuo Shinohara (“Terminal“). Story for the film follows a battle between Monk Senko Ikenobo (Mansai Nomura) and ruler Hideyoshi Toyotomi (Kamejiro Ichikawa). Aoi Morikawa will play female character Ren. Her character is a genius level artist and she is an original character to the movie (not found in the original novel).
“Hana Ikusa” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Here’s the first still image of Seohyun (‘Girls’ Generation’) in SBS drama series “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” starring Lee Joon-Gi & IU. In the upcoming drama series, Seohyun plays Woo-Hee. Her character is the last princess of the late Baekje Kingdom and apparently handles herself nicely with swords.

Movie is based on manga series “Dias Police Ihou Keisatsu” written by Takashi Nagasaki and directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri.

Lee Sun-Kyun has been offered the lead role in upcoming JTBC drama “My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week.” The drama series is a remake of 2007 Fuji TV drama series “My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week?!” (“Konshu Tsuma ga Uwaki Shimasu”) starring Yusuke Santamaria & Yuriko Ishida. Currently, Lee Sun-Kyun is “highly considering” the offer.
If Lee Sun-Kyun accepts, he will play Do Hyun-Woo. His character is a PD and married for the past 10 years. After he learns his wife is having an affair, he turns to online social networks for help on saving his marriage.
