First script reading for upcoming SBS drama series “Wanted” starring Kim A-Joong & Uhm Tae-Woong took place May 21, 2016 at SBS Ilsan Production Studios in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. First script reading had Kim A-Joong, Uhm Tae-Woong, Ji Hyun-Woo, Park Hae-Joon, Park Hyo-Joo and other main cast members in attendance.
“Wanted” first airs June 22, 2016 in South Korea (takes over the SBS Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot currently held by “Entertainer“).
Emi Takei and Hideaki Takizawa are cast in live-action TBS drama series “Seisei Suruhodo, Aishiteru.” Drama series is based on manga series “Seisei Suruhodo, Aishiteru” by Miyuki Kitagawa. Also cast in the drama series are Aoi Nakamura, Erena Mizusawa, Reina Triendl and Mitsuomi Takahashi. In the drama series, Emi Takei plays Mia Kurihara. She works in the PR department at a company. She falls in love with the Vice President at the company played by Hideaki Takizawa, but he is married.
“Seisei Suruhodo, Aishiteru” first airs this July in Japan.
Actress Kim Ha-Neul has been offered a lead female role in upcoming KBS2 drama series “On the Way to the Airport” (literal title). Actor Lee Sang-Yoon has already received an offered to play a lead male role and he is still considering the offer positively. Kim Ha-Neul is currently “positively considering” her offer.
If Kim Ha-Neul accepts, she will play Choi Soo-A. Her character is an assistant purser for an airline. She has been working there for 12 years. She is also married to an airplane pilot.
“On the Way to the Airport” will first air September, 2016 in South Korea (will take over KBS2’s Wednesday & Thursday 10PM time slot after “Uncontrollably Fond“).
Park Hae-Jin is now cast in movie “Cheese in the Trap.” The movie is based on webcomic “Cheese in the Trap” by Soon Ggi which was previously adapted into 2016 tvN drama series “Cheese in the Trap.” Park Hae-Jin also starred in the tvN drama series version and will reprise his role of Yoo Jung for the movie version.
Filming for movie “Cheese in the Trap” will begin early 2017 in South Korea.
Ryosuke Yamada & Tsubasa Honda are cast in live-action film “Fullmetal Alchemist.” Movie is based on popular manga series “Hagane no Renkinjutsushi” by Hiromu Arakawa and will be directed Fumihiko Sori (“Ping Pong“/”Ichi“). Also cast in the movie are Dean Fujioka, Yasuko Matsuyuki, Fumiyo Kohinata, Misako Renbutsu, Ryuta Sato, Natsuna Watanabe, Natsuki Harada, Jun Kunimura, Yo Oizumi, Kenjiro Ishimaru, Kanata Hongo & Shinji Uchiyama.
In the upcoming live-action film, Ryosuke Yamada will play Edward Elric. Along with his younger brother Alphonse, Edward Elric tries to bring back to life their mother with the forbidden technique of human transmutation. The brothers’ attempt fails and Edward lose parts of his body, while his younger brother’s soul is affixed to a body armor. Later, the brothers go on a journey to retrieve a stone that may restore what they lost. Tsubasa Honda will play Winry Rockbell.
Filming for “Fullmetal Alchemist” begins June, 2016 in Italy and will also take place in Japan.
Actress Kim Hee-Ae is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Second To Last Love” co-starring Ji Jin-Hee. Also cast in supporting roles are Kim Seul-Gi and Lee Soo-Min. Yoon Doo-Joon from idol group ‘B2ST’ has also been offered a major supporting character role and he is considering the offer positively.
In the drama series, Kim Hee-Ae will play Kang Min-Joo. Her character is a 40ish single woman and works as PD at a broadcasting station. Kim Seul-Gi will play Ko Mi-Ryeo. Her character is the younger sister of Ko Sang-Sik (Ji Jin-Hee) and works as a webtoon writer. Lee Soo-Min will play Ko Ye-Ji. She is the daughter of Ko Sang-Sik.
“Second To Last Love” will first air this July in South Korea.

Kei Inoo from ‘Hey! Say! JUMP’ is cast in upcoming TV Asahi drama special “Doctor-X” starring Ryoko Yonekura. In the drama special, Kei Inoo will play Kojiro Himuro. His character is a champion figure skater about to take part in a world competition, but he will go undergo surgery performed by Michiko Daimon (Ryoko Yonekura).
The 1 episode drama special “Doctor-X” will air sometime this summer in Japan.
Jin Young (‘B1A4’) has been offered a major supporting role in upcoming KBS2 drama “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” starring Park Bo-Gum & Kim You-Jung. Jin Young is currently “positively considering” the offer.
If Jin Young accepts, he will play Kim Yoon-Sung. His character falls into a love triangle with Crown Prince Hyomyeong (Park Bo-Gum) and Hong Ra-On (Kim You-Jung).
Yook Sung-Jae from idol group ‘BTOB’ was first offered the role of Kim Yoon-Sung, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts.
“Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” will premiere August 1, 2016 in South Korea.
First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “W,” starring Lee Jong-Suk & Han Hyo-Joo, took place early this month at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. At the first script reading Lee Jong-Suk, Han Hyo-Joo, Jeong Eu-Gene, Lee Tae-Hwan and other main cast members attended. In the drama series, Lee Jong-Suk plays Kang Chul. His character is an Olympic gold medalist in shooting sports and he now runs a company. He is cold-blooded, but smart. Meanwhile, Han Hyo-Joo plays Oh Yeon-Joo. Her character is a second year resident of thoracic surgery. She is bright and has warm heart.
