Satomi Ishihara cast in NTV drama series “Jimi ni Sugoi!”

Satomi Ishihara is cast in new NTV drama series “Jimi ni Sugoi!” The drama series is based on novel “Koetsu Garu” by Ayako Miyagi and directed by Toya Sato (“Gokusen“). Story for the drama series has Satomi Ishihara playing Etsuko Kono. She wants to become a fashion editor and begins working for a publishing company, but she ends up working in the copy editing section.

“Jimi ni Sugoi!” first airs October, 2016 in Japan.

Yoona cast in tvN drama series “K2”

Yoona from idol group ‘Girls’ Generation’ is now cast in upcoming tvN drama series “K2” co-starring Ji Chang-Wook and Song Yoon-A.

In the upcoming drama series, Yoona will play Ko An-Na. Her character is the secret daughter of a presidential candidate played by Cho Seong-Ha. Meanwhile, actress Song Yoon-A will play the wife of the presidential candidate and Ji Chang-Wook will play Kim Je-Ha. His character is the bodyguard for the wife of the presidential candidate.

“K2” first airs sometime this September in South Korea.

First still images of Kim So-Eun and Song Jae-Rim in upcoming SBS drama series “Our Gab-Soon.” The still images are from the first day of filming for Kim So-Eun and Song Jae-Rim. Filming for this scene took place at an apartment complex in Ilsan, South Korea. In the drama series, Shin Gab-Soon (Kim So-Eun) and Heo Gab-Dol (Song Jae-Rim) are a couple who have dated for 10 years.

“Our Gab-Soon” first airs August 27, 2016 in South Korea.

Junichi Okada, Koji Yakusho, Kasumi Arimura cast in movie “Sekigahara”

Junichi Okada (‘V6’), Koji Yakusho and Kasumi Arimura are cast in new movie “Sekigahara.” The movie is based on the historical fiction novel “Sekigahara” by Ryotaro Shiba and will be directed by Masato Harada (“The Emperor in August“).

Story for the movie takes place during the Battle of Sekigahara (October 21, 1600). Junichi Okada will play Mitsunari Ishida. He leads the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara. Koji Yakusho will play Ieyasu Tokugawa. Ieyasu Tokugawa leads the Eastern Army. Kasumi Arimura will play Hatsume. Her character is sent to spy on Mitsunari Ishida, but falls in love with him.

Filming for “Sekigahara” begins this month and the movie will be released sometime during autumn, 2017 in Japan.

Lee Je-Hoon and Shin Min-A cast in tvN drama series “Tomorrow With You”

Lee Je-Hoon and Shin Min-A are now cast in new tvN drama series “Tomorrow With You.”

In the drama series, Lee Je-Hoon will play Yoo So-Joon. He is the CEO of a real estate investment company. He also has the ability to travel though time via a subway. Due to his time travel abilities, he has amassed a fortune in real estate.

Shin Min-A  will play Song Ma-Rin. She is married to Yoo So-Joon. When she was 5 years old, she was a popular child actress. Her popularity did not last long. Now, she is in her 30’s and works without fanfare as a photographer. After she married Yoo So-Joon, she learned that he could travel through time which causes her confusion.

“Tomorrow With You” will air Friday and Saturday beginning sometime in 2017 (taking over the time slot after the conclusion of “Goblin“).

Song Ji-Hyo cast in JTBC drama series “My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week”

Song Ji-Hyo is now cast for female lead in upcoming JTBC drama series “My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week” co-starring Lee Sun-Kyun & BoA. The drama series is a remake of 2007 Fuji TV drama series”My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week?!” (“Konshu Tsuma ga Uwaki Shimasu”).

In drama series “My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week,” Song Ji-Hyo will play the wife of Hyun-Woo (Lee Sun-Kyun). Hyun-Woo learns his wife is having an affair and turns to anonymous internet users for advice.

“My Wife’s Having an Affair this Week” first airs this October in South Korea.

In the upcoming drama series, Lee Joon-Gi plays Wang So. He later becomes King Gwangjong of Goryeo. Wang So is called Dog Wolf because of his mask, cold ice-like eyes and tenacious personality. When he was little, he was not loved by his parents. His father used him literally as a shield, which left a prominent scar on his face. His mother held him hostage to take back her husband’s love. After Wang So meets Hae-Soo (IU), he changes.
