Actor Kim Sung-Oh is cast in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Baek-Hee Has Returned” starring Gang Ye-Won. The drama series consists of 4 episodes and will air after the conclusion of “My Lawyer, Mr. Jo.”
In the drama series, Kim Sung-Oh will play lead male character Woo Bum-Ryong. He used to be a gang member, but now lives quietly with his mother. He is also lonely. Meanwhile, Gang Ye-Won plays a woman who returns to an island for the first time in 18 years, but under a different identity.

Lee Jung-Jae and Kim Ha-Neul are now cast in upcoming movie “With God” (literal title). Previously announced cast members include Ha Jung-Woo, Cha Tae-Hyun, Ju Ji-Hoon, Ma Dong-Seok, Kim Hyang-Gi, Do Kyung-Soo (‘EXO-K’) & Kim Dong-Wook. Movie will be directed by Kim Yong-Hwa (“200 Pounds Beauty“/”Take Off“) and is based on webcomic “Singwa Hamgge” by Joo Ho-Min. Story for the film is set in a purgatory world where angels of deaths take part in trials of humans to determine their eternal fate.
In the upcoming film, Lee Jung-Jae will play King Yeomra. His character is the God of Death. Kim Ha-Neul will play the God of Betrayal Hell.
“With God” will be released sometime in 2017.
Ikki Sawamura is cast in WOWOW drama series “Kibogaoka no Hitobito.” Also cast in the drama series are Emi Wakui, Hiyori Sakurada, Keita Ninomiya & Kazue Ito. The drama series is based 2009 novel “Kibogaoka no Hitobito” by Kiyoshi Shigematsu (“Tonbi“).
Story for “Kibogaoka no Hitobito,” has Ikki Sawamura playing Tajima. His wife, played by Emi Wakui, dies shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. He takes his two children to his late wife’s hometown and on a whim decides to live there with his children.
“Kibogaoka no Hitobito” first airs July 16, 2016 in Japan.
Choi Sung-Won, who plays supporting character Dong-Rae, has dropped out of JTBC drama series “Mirror of the Witch.” During filming of the drama series he received light bruising, but his recovery was slower than usual. He went to the hospital for a checkup and was then diagnosed with acute leukemia on May 4, 2016. His leukemia was caught in the early stages and there is a high chance of curing his illness through treatment. His character was originally scripted to appear throughout the drama series, but will now only appear in the early portions of the drama series. Best wishes to Choi Sung-Won.

Noriko Iriyama and Jun Shison are cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “You’re My Pet.” Also cast in supporting roles are Terunosuke Takezai, Yurina Yanagi, Kayo Noro (ex-AKB48) and Yuumi Shida. The drama series is based on manga series “Kimi wa Pet” by Yayaoi Ogawa which was previously adapted into 2003 TBS drama series “You’re My Pet” (starring Koyuki and Jun Matsumoto) and 2011 South Korean film “You’re My Pet” (starring Kim Ha-Neul andJang Keun-Suk).
Exact air date for “You’re My Pet” has yet be decided, but it will air late night in Japan.
Kazuya Kamenashi (‘KAT-TUN’) & Tao Tsuchiya are cast in live-action film “P and JK.” This is the first time the two will perform together. The film is based on manga series “P to JK” by Maki Miyoshi and directed by Ryuichi Hiroki (“Strobe Edge“).
In movie “P and JK,” Tao Tsuchiya plays high school student Kako Motoya. She pretends to be a college student and goes on a group date. There she meets Kota Sagano played by Kazuya Kamenashi. The two become attracted to each other, but Kota Sagano is a police officer and he learns that Kako Motoya is a high school student.
Filming for “P and JK” takes place from June – July, 2016 and the movie will be released sometime during spring, 2017 in Japan.
Ep.1 air date for upcoming SBS drama series “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo,” starring Lee Joon-Gi, IU & Kang Ha-Neul, has now been set for August 29, 2016 in South Korea. The drama series will air Mondays & Tuesdays at 10PM following the conclusion of drama series “Doctors.” Drama series “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” is a remake of 2011 Chinese drama series “Scarlet Heart” (“Bu Bu Jing Xin”). The “Ryeo” in the SBS drama series title is a shortened form of Goryeo kingdom which existed from 918-1392 AD (predecessor of South Korea).
Actress Keiko Kitagawa is cast in new NTV drama series “Ie Uru Onna” (literally “Women Who Sells A House”). Drama series also pairs screenwriter Shizuka Oishi (“Second Virgin“) with directors Ryuichi Inomata (“I’m Mita, Your Housekeeper“) and Noriyoshi Sakuma (“My Little Nightmare“).
In drama series “Ie Uru Onna,” Keiko Kitagawa plays real estate extraordinaire Machi Sangenya. Her character is determined to get everyone of her clients to purchase a home from her. She uses her own special method to accomplish this goal. Her special method involves immersing herself in her client’s family problems and attempting to solve them.
“Ie Uru Onna” first airs this July in Japan.
TaecYeon (‘2PM’) and Kwon Yool are now cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Let’s Fight Ghost” also starring Kim So-Hyun. TaecYeon and Kwon Yool were previously offered starring roles and they have now accepted.
In “Let’s Fight Ghost,” TaecYeon will play Park Bong-Pal. He has the special ability to see and touch ghosts. He doesn’t like ghosts, but makes money as an exorcist – capitalizing on his special abilities. Park Bong-Pal is cynical, but also cute. He happens to meet high school student ghost Hyun-Ji (Kim So-Hyun). The two then perform exorcisms together. At first they bicker all the time, but later develop feelings for each other.
Kwon Yool will play Joo Hye-Sung. His character is a veterinarian and also a professor in veterinary medicine. He has a gentle and warm heart, but he also has a secret.
