Lee Hong-Ki cast in tvN drama series “Hwayuki”

Lee Hong-Ki from ‘F.T. Island’ is cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Hwayuki” starring Cha Seung-Won and Oh Yeon-Seo. Actor Lee Seung-Gi is still considering an offer to play the lead male character and Yoon Bo-Ra from ‘Sistar’ is considering an offer to play a supporting female character.

For the drama series, Lee Hong-Ki will play P.K. His character is Zhu Bajie in the original classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West” which the drama series is based on. P.K is scripted as a top star and he gets various information based on his popularity and social skills. With the information he comes and goes between Son O-Gong and Woo Hwi-Cheol (Cha Seung-Won).”Hwayuki” will first air December, 2017 in South korea.

First script reading for tvN drama special “Assistant Manager B and Love Letter”

First script reading for tvN drama special “Assistant Manager B and Love Letter” took place September 29, 2017 at Studio Dragon in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. At the first script reading, Song Ji-Hyo, Jo Woo-Jin and other main cast members attended. In the drama series, Song Ji-Hyo plays assistant manager at a shoe company. She receives an anonymous love letter and tries to find the sender. Jo Woo-Jin plays Sim Byung-Sun. He is the assistant manager’s boss.

“Assistant Manager B and Love Letter” will air sometime this December in South Korea.

Hironari Amano cast in live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka”

Hironari Amano is cast in upcoming live-action film “Hana wa Saku ka” co-starring Tsurugi Watanabe. Movie is based on manga series “Hana wa Saku ka” by Shoko Hidaka. Hironari Amano will play co-lead character Kazuaki Sakurai. He is a 37-year-old advertising executive. He falls in love with 19-year-ol male art student Yoichi Mizukawa (Tsurugi Watanabe).

Release date for “Hana wa Saku ka” is now set for February 24, 2018 in Japan.

Choi Ji-Woo offered leading role in tvN drama series “The Most Beautiful Goodbye in the World”

Choi Ji-Woo has been offered a leading role in upcoming tvN drama series “The Most Beautiful Goodbye in the World.” Won Mi-Kyung and Kim Young-Ok are already cast in the drama series. Currently, Choi Ji-Woo is considering the offer.

The drama series is a remake of 1996 MBC drama series “The Most Beautiful Goodbye.” 2011 movie “The Last Blossom” is also a remake of the 1996 MBC drama series “The Most Beautiful Goodbye.” No Hee-Kyung, who wrote the original screenplay for the 1996 MBC drama series, will write the screenplay for tvN’s new version.

“The Most Beautiful Goodbye in the World” will first air this December in South Korea.

Filming for movie “Swing Kids” begins October 18th

Filming for upcoming movie “Swing Kids,” starring Do Kyung-Soo (‘EXO’) and Park Hye-Soo, begins October 18, 2017 in Samcheok, Gangwon Province, South Korea. The set there will recreate the Geoje POW Camp in the year 1951. The traditional gosa ceremony to bring about good fortunes for the movie already took place October 11, 2017. Movie is directed by Kang Hyung-Chul (“Scandal Makers“/”Sunny“).

In the upcoming film, Do Kyung-Soo (‘EXO’) plays Rho Ki-Soo. He is a young North Korean soldier held at the Geoje POW Camp. He happens to see tap dancing and falls in love with it. Do Kyung-Soo took tap dancing lessons for several months to prepare for the movie. Park Hye-Soo will play translator Yang Pan-Rae. Her character is fluent in Chinese and English.
