Ryuhei Matsuda and Yojiro Noda are cast in new movie “Nakimushi Shottan no Kiseki.” The film is based on the autobiographical novel “Nakimushi Shottan no Kiseki” by Shoji Segawa and directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. Ryuhei Matsuda will play main character Shoji Segawa. His character has aspired to become a professional shogi player, but at the age of 26, he gives up shogi because of age restrictions. After bottoming out, he receives support from his friend (Yojiro Noda) and plays shogi again. The game of shogi is a Japanese chess like game that has been popularized in recent films like “Satoshi: A Move for Tomorrow” and “March Comes in Like a Lion.”
“Nakimushi Shottan no Kiseki” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
