Filming for upcoming movie “Commander Kim Chang-Soo” (literal title), starring Cho Jin-Woong & Song Seung-Heon, finished January 31, 2017. Filming took place over 3 months and shooting locations occurred nationwide, including Ganghwado, Hapcheon, Mungyeong and Yeoju. The last scene filmed took place on a snow covered field on Hambaek Mountain in Gangwon Province, South Korea.
“Commander Kim Chang-Soo” will be released sometime this year in South Korea.

Interesting enough, both actors are coming off successful stints playing a doctor in TV drama series. Story for movie “The Prison” has Han Suk-Kyu playing inmate Ik-Ho. He rules the prison like a king. Meanwhile, Kim Rae-Won plays ex-detective Yoo-Gun. He lands in prison on hit-and-run charges. Ik-Ho watches the hot tempered Yoo-Gun.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Part Time Spy” starring Gang Ye-Won, Han Chae-Ah & Namgung Min. Movie is directed by Kim Deok-Soo (“Dad for Rent“). Premise for the action-comedy film has Gang Ye-Won playing NSA temp worker Jang Young-Sil. When her boss at the national security agency becomes the victim of a voice phishing scam, she sees it as an opportunity to land a full time job there. She teams up with Detective Na Jung-An (Han Chae-Ah) to take down the phishing scam operation.

Lee Byung-Hun and Park Jung-Min are cast in new movie “That’s Only My World” (literal title). The film will be directed by Choi Sung-Hyun (screenwriter for movie “The Fatal Encounter“). Story for the film revolves around two brothers. Lee Byung-Hun plays the older brother who is a washed-up boxer. Park Jung-Min will play the younger brother. He is a gifted pianist and has a physical disability. Their relationship is mended through their mother and stories of her difficult past. Filming for “That’s Only My World” begins June, 2017 in South Korea.
Kim Tae-Ri is cast in upcoming movie “1987” co-starring Kim Yun-Seok, Ha Jung-Woo & Gang Dong-Won. Movie is based on a true story and directed by Jang Joon-Hwan (“Save the Green Planet!“/”Hwayi“).
Story for the film revolves around the arrest and torture student activist Park Jong-Chul. In 1987, he was captured by the police and tortured to death. The police and government attempt to cover up his death, but students and the media try to reveal the truth. Kim Tae-Ri will play university student Yeon-Hee. She gets involved in the democratic uprising in June, 1987 and she is in a romantic relationship with a university student play by Gang Dong-Won.
Filming for the movie begins sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.
Filming for upcoming movie “Little Forest,” starring Kim Tae-Ri, Ryoo Joon-Yeol & Jin Ki-Joo, began January 21, 2017 at a village in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The first scene filmed has Hye-Won (Kim Tae-Ri), who came to the village from the city, and her two long-time friends, Jae-Ha (Ryoo Joon-Yeol) and Eun-Sook (Jin Ki-Joo), gathering together. The film is directed by Yim Soonrye.
Movie is based on manga series “Little Forest” by Daisuke Igarashi which was previously adapted into the films “Little Forest: Summer & Autumn” & “Little Forest: Winter & Spring.” The Korean version will include all 4 seasons in the film. Photo above is from the first script reading for the film.

Trailer and poster added for Hong Sang-Soo directed film “On the Beach at Night Alone” starring Kim Min-Hee. Movie will have its world premiere at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival in the competition section. Kim Min-Hee previously starred in 2015 Hong Sang-Soo film “Right Now, Wrong Then” and the duo made headlines in South Korea last year when the press revealed they were in a romantic relationship, even though Hong Sang-Soo was married at the time.

Filming of upcoming movie “V.I.P.,” starring Jang Dong-Gun, Kim Myung-Min, Park Hee-Soon & Lee Jong-Suk, finished January 20, 2017. Filming for the movie took 3 months to complete and shooting locations included Thailand, Hong Kong as well as South Korea.
Meanwhile, photos above are the first for the movie released publicly. In the upcoming film, Jang Dong-Gun plays Park Jae-Hyuk. His character is connected with the C.I.A. in the U.S. and the N.I.S. in South Korea. Kim Myung-Min plays South Korean detective Chae Yi-Do. Park Hee-Soon plays Lee Dae-Bum. He is a coldblooded agent for The Ministry of People’s Security in North Korea and he travels to South Korea. Lastly, Lee Jong-Suk plays serial murder suspect Gwang-Il. He defected from North Korea to South Korea and is an important figure. He is referred to as “V.I.P.” Movie is directed by Park Hoon-Jung (“New World“).
