Jang Keun-Suk cast in SBS drama series “Daebak”

Actor Jang Keun-Suk is now cast in upcoming SBS period drama series “Daebak.” In the drama series, Jang Keun-Suk will play the character of Dae-Gil. His character is scripted as the best gambler in the Joseon era. He enters into an epic wager with King Yeongjo. Actress Lim Ji-Yeon and actor Yeo Jin-Goo are still considering on offers to play the other main roles.

“Daebak” will consist of 24 episodes and first air March 28, 2016 in South Korea.

First script reading for SBS drama series “Come Back Mister”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Come Back Mister” took place back on December 22, 2015 at SBS Production Center in Ilsan, South Korea. At the first script reading main cast members including Rain, Lee Min-Jung, Oh Yeon-Seo, Yoon Park, Lee Tae-Hwan and Lee Ha-Nui were all in attendance. The first script reading took about 5 hours to finish.

“Come Back Mister” first airs February 24, 2016 in South Korea.

Trailer and poster for SBS drama series “Mystery Freshman”

Trailer and poster added for upcoming SBS drama special “Mystery Freshman” starring Nam Ji-Hyun & Yeon Jun-Suk. Story for the drama special has Nam Ji-Hyun playing Oh A-Young. Her character fails to get into Myungsung University twice. She then lies to her family and tells her she got into the school, but a cousin of hers actually attends the school and knows about her lie. The cousin then has Oh A-Young attending her classes for her. Oh A-Young then meets a mysterious freshman (Yeon Jun-Suk).

“Mystery Freshman” airs January 29, 2016 in South Korea.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black”

First script reading for MBC drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black” starring Moon Chae-Won & Lee Jin-Wook took place January 9, 2016 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. At the first script reading main cast members Lee Jin-Wook, Moon Chae-Won, Kim Kang-Woo, Yu In-Young & Song Jae-Rim were in attendance.

In drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black,” Lee Jin-Wook  plays Cha Ji-Won (Mr. Black). He is an officer of the Korean Navy UDT (Underwater Demolition Team). His character is a positive and good person, but he is betrayed by his so called friend Min Sun-Jae (Kim Kang-Woo) and wants to take revenge on him.

Moon Chae-Won plays Swan. Her character was dumped at a landfill area in Thailand at a young age and she now makes a living at traditional market.
“Goodbye Mr. Black” first airs March 16, 2016 in South Korea.

KBS2 drama series “Moorim School” shortened to 16 episodes from 20 episodes

KBS2 drama series “Moorim School,” starring Shin Hyun-Joon, Lee Hyun-Woo, Seo Ye-Ji, Hong Bin & Jeong Eu-Gene, has been shortened to 16 episodes from its originally planned 20 episodes. The drama series was shortened due to low TV ratings and conflict over production costs between network KBS and production company JSpictures. The drama series will now finish on March 1, 2016 instead of March 15, 2016. The following drama series “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-Ho” will still premiere on March 21, 2016 as originally planned. KBS2 will now air a short 4 episode drama series “Babysitter” between the final episode of “Moorim School” and the first episode of “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-Ho.”

Jang Keun-Suk, Lim Ji-Yeon and Yeo Jin-Goo offered leading roles in SBS drama series “Daebak”

Jang Keun-Suk, Lim Ji-Yeon and Yeo Jin-Goo have been offered leading roles in upcoming SBS period drama series “Daebak.” The title of the drama series “Daebak” has two meanings in South Korea: “jackpot” or “cool.” All three performers are currently considering the offers.

If Jang Keun-Suk accepts, he will play Baek Dae-Gil. His character is a gambler. If Lim Ji-Yeon accepts, she will play Dam-Seo. Her character is driven solely to exact revenge on the King. If Yeo Jin-Goo accepts, he will play King Yeongjo.

“Daebak” first airs this March in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Six Flying Dragons“).
