Namgung Min is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” (literal title). For the drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum,” Namgung Min will play Hoon-Nam. He knows about love well, but he doesn’t want to fall in love. His name also means “handsome guy” in Korean. Meanwhile, actress Hwang Jung-Eum is still considering an offer to play the lead female character.
Filming for “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” will begin early April, 2018 and the drama series will start to air May, 2018 in South Korea.

Currently airing JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki” has been extended from its originally planned 16 episodes to 20 episodes. The drama series has become popular with its fun story line following three men who run a guest house in Itaewon. Main cast members of Kim Jung-Hyun, Lee Yi-Kyung, Son Seung-Won, Jung In-Sun, Go Won-Hee and Lee Joo-Woo were relatively unknown prior to “Welcome to Waikiki.”
Meanwhile, “Welcome to Waikiki” will delay airing ep.11 and ep.12 from March 12th and March 13th to March 19th and March 20th respectively. The one week delay is to give the staff and cast members more time to complete filming. On March 12th and March 13th, JTBC will air a special behind the scenes of “Welcome to Waikiki” with behind the scenes footage and commentary by the performers.
Lee Dong-Gun is cast for the second lead male role in JTBC drama series “Sketch” starring Rain. In the drama series, Lee Dong-Gun will play Kim Do-Jin. He is a special forces member. Casting for the lead female role has yet to be announced, though Hwang Jung-Eum was first offered the lead female role and declined. This is Lee Dong-Gun’s first acting role since his wife Jo Yoon-Hee gave birth to their first child on December 14, 2017.

The voice over in the teaser trailer is of Jung Hae-In and he asks ” … older sister, if I ask you to buy me food tomorrow, will you buy me food?” The catchy song playing in the teaser trailer is cover song “Stand By Your Man” by Carla Bruni. Hwang Jung-Eum has been offered the lead female role in new SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” (literal title). Namgung Min has already received an offer to play the lead male role. Both performers are currently “positively considering” their offers. If Hwang Jung-Eum accepts, she will play appropriately named lead female character Jung-Eum. The drama series will follow the relationship between Hoon-Nam (Namgung Min if he accepts) and Jung-Eum. Hoon-Nam also means handsome guy in Korean.

Lee Joon-Ho (‘2PM’), Jang Hyuk and Jung Ryeo-Won have been offered lead roles in upcoming SBS drama series “Greasy Melo” (literal title). All three performers are currently “positively considering” the offers. The drama series will be set around a small, failing Chinese restaurant. If Lee Joon-Ho accepts, he will play lead male character Seo Poong. He was once a former star chef, but Seo Poong now works at a floundering Chinese restaurant. If Jang Hyuk accepts, he will play second lead male character Doo Chil-Seo. He owns a building and he was once a gang member. If Jung Ryeo-Won accepts the offer, she will play the lead female character.

First script reading for SBS drama series “Switch: Change the World,” starring Jang Keun-Suk and Han Ye-Ri, took place February 7, 2018 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea. Main cast members including Jang Keun-Suk, Han Ye-Ri, Jung Woong-In, Lee Jung-Kil, Jo Hee-Bong and Shin Do-Hyun all attended. The first script reading took 4 hours to complete. In the drama series, Jang Keun-Suk plays two charactes with compltely different personalities. Sa Do-Chan is a swindler, but smart enough to take the bar exam. Baek Joon-Soo is a prosecutor and abides by legal principle. Han Ye-Ri plays enthusiastic prosecutor Oh Ha-Ra.

Park Min-Young has been offered the lead female role in tvN drama series “Why Secretary Kim” co-starring Park Seo-Joon. If Park Min-Young accepts, she will play title character Secretary Kim Mi-Soo. Her character works as a secretary for Lee Young-Joon (Park Seo-Joon). At work she pursues perfection with a smile, but at home she is quite lazy. Currently, Park Min-Young is positively considering the offer.
