Lee Jong-Suk is now cast in SBS drama special “Praise of Death” (literal title). The drama special is based on the true story of Kim Woo-Jin and Yun Sim-Deok. Lee Jong-Suk will play lead male character Kim Woo-Jin. While Korea is under Japanese occupation, Kim Woo-Jin works as a stage drama writer. While studying in Japan, he falls in love with Yun Sim-Deok even though he is already married. Yun Sim-Deok would go on to release the first Korean pop song titled “Praise of Death” in 1926.
Lee Jong-Suk is reportedly not receiving payment for his performance and instead performing to support director Park Soo-Jin whom he worked with previously in 2017 SBS drama series “While You Were Sleeping.” “Praise of Death” will consist of 2 episodes and will air sometime this year in South Korea.
Teaser trailer #1 added for upcoming tvN drama series “My Mister” starring Lee Sun-Kyun and IU. tvN previously released 2 versions of teaser trailer #1, but then actor Oh Dal-Su dropped out of the drama series due to sexual harassment claims from his past. The new, redux teaser trailer #1 now features Park Ho-San playing Park Sang-Hoon (the older brother of main character played by Lee Sun-Kyun) instead of Oh Dal-Su.

Lee Jong-Suk has been offered the lead role in SBS drama special “Praise of Death” (literal title). Currently, Lee Jong-Suk is “positively considering” the offer. If he accepts the offer, he will play lead male character Kim Woo-Jin. The drama special will be directed by Park Soo-Jin. Park Soo-Jin previously worked with Lee Jong-Suk in 2017 SBS drama series “While You Were Sleeping.” Drama special “Praise of Death” is based on the true story of Kim Woo-Jin and Yun Sim-Deok. Yun Sim-Deok was Korea’s first soprano and recorded the first Korean pop song “Praise of Death” in 1926.
“Praise of Death” will air sometime this year in South Korea and will consist of 2 episodes.
Actor Jo Min-Gi has taken his own life. He was found dead by his wife around 4PM today, March 9, 2018, in the storage area of their apartment’s underground parking lot. Around February 20, 2018, Jo Min-Gi was accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault by students he taught at Cheongju University. Police informed the media on February 21, 2018 that they would investigate the claims and OCN announced that Jo Min-Gi has dropped out of their upcoming drama series “Children of A Lesser God.” Jo Min-Gi was also scheduled to go to the Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency on March 12, 2018 to answer questions regarding the sexual harassment and assault claims. Initially, Jo Min-Gi denied the sexual harassment and sexual assault claims, but he finally made an apology on February 27, 2018.

The still images are from Han Ye-Ri’s first day of filming which took place February 24, 2018 at Asan in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. As you can see in the photos, Han Ye-Ri got her haircut to play her character Oh Ha-Ra. In Oh Ha-Ra’s past, she was falsely accused of stealing and faced expulsion from school, but, with the help of senior Baek Joon-Soo (Jang Keun-Suk), she was able to clear her name. Baek Joon-Soo told her that he wanted to become a prosecutor and she decided to follow in his path and become a prosecutor.

Song Ji-Hyo has been offered the lead female role in upcoming drama series “Romantic Comedy King.” The drama series is based on manga “Zettai Kareshi” by Yuu Watase which was previously adapted into 2008 Fuji TV live-action drama series “Absolute Boyfriend.” Currently, Song Ji-Hyo is considering the offer. If she accepts, she will play a woman who had a bad love experience and became a cold person because of it. She then falls in love with an android programmed to be a boyfriend.
OCN is currently having discussions to air the drama series on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:00PM, but an agreement has not yet been reached.

Namgung Min is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” (literal title). For the drama series “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum,” Namgung Min will play Hoon-Nam. He knows about love well, but he doesn’t want to fall in love. His name also means “handsome guy” in Korean. Meanwhile, actress Hwang Jung-Eum is still considering an offer to play the lead female character.
Filming for “Handsome Guy and Jung-Eum” will begin early April, 2018 and the drama series will start to air May, 2018 in South Korea.
