First script reading for MBC drama series “Risky Romance” took place May 3, 2018 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. Main cast members including Ji Hyun-Woo, Lee Si-Young, Kim Jin-Yeop, Bae Seul-Ki and Shin Won-Ho (‘CROSS GENE’) attended. The drama series follows the romance between a neurosurgeon played by Ji Hyun-Woo and an endocrinology doctor played by Lee Si-Young.

Park Si-Ho and Song Ji-Hyo are now cast in KBS2 drama series “Lovely Horribly.” The drama series features a mixture romantic-comedy and horror. For the drama series, Park Si-Hoo will play top star Yoo Philip and Song Ji-Hyo will play screenwriter Ji Eul-Soon. They were born at the same time and seem to share fate.
“Lovely Horribly” first airs August, 2018 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Are You Human?“).
Song Seung-Heon and Krystal are now cast for lead roles in new OCN drama series “Player.” The drama series first had the working title of “Hustle” and then “Pan,” before selecting “Player.” For the drama series Song Seung-Heon will play Kang Ha-Ri and Krystal will play Cha A-Ryeong. They are members of a team intent on taking back ill gotten crime proceeds from criminals.
“Player” is now scheduled to air sometime during the second half of this year (will take over OCN’s Saturday and Sunday 10:20 PM time slot after “Voice 2“).
Seo In-Guk is cast in tvN drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky.” The drama series is a remake of 2002 Fuji TV drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky” starring Takuya Kimura. Actress Jung So-Min had already received an offer to play the lead female role and she is still considering. Seo In-Guk will play the lead male character in the drama series.

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “Your House Helper” took place May 21, 2018 at KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. Main cast members including Ha Seok-Jin, Bona (‘WJSN’), Lee Ji-Hoon, Go Won-Hee, Jeon Soo-Jin, Seo Eun-A, Lee Do-Gyeom, Yun Ju-Sang, Jo Hee-Bong and Lee Min-Young all attended. After the first script reading, Ha Seok-Jin stated that “after I practiced with other actors and actresses, I feel like my character has become clear.” Story for the drama series follows house helper Kim Ji-Woon (Ha Seok-Jin) as he helps people arrange their homes, life and relationships.

Yeo Jin-Goo, Minah and Hong Jong-Hyun are cast in live-action drama series “Absolute Boyfriend.” The drama series is based on manga “Zettai Kareshi” by Yuu Watase and follows 2008 Fuji TV drama series “Absolute Boyfriend” which is also based on the same manga. For the drama series, Yeo Jin-Goo will play lead male character Young-Goo. He is the prototypical perfect boyfriend. Minah will play lead female character Da-Da. She works as a special effects make-up artist. Hong Jong-Hyun is cast for second lead male character Ma Wang-Joon. He is a top star.
Filming for “Absolute Boyfriend” will begin early July, 2018 in South Korea, but exact network to air the drama series has yet to be decided.
First teaser trailer added for upcoming JTBC drama series “Life” starring Lee Dong-Wook, Cho Seung-Woo and Won Jin-A. At the beginning of the teaser trailer a caption in Korean appears that states “The moment 1.5 liter of blood is shed, life disappears. How much time is left for us?” That same question also appears in the teaser poster for the drama series. At the 15 second mark of the teaser trailer a second caption in Korean appears that states “The new medical drama, which has never been seen before, is born.”
“Life” is now scheduled to first air July 23, 2018 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Monday and Tuesday 11PM time slot after “Ms. Hammurabi“).
Seo Hyun-Jin is cast for a cameo appearance in upcoming tvN drama series “Let’s Eat 3” starring Yoon Doo-Joon and Baek Jin-Hee. Seo Hyun-Jin will reprise her role of Baek Soo-Ji, which she played in “Let’s Eat 2.” Seo Hyun-Jin will film her cameo appearance as the ex-girlfriend of Dae-Young (Yoon Doo-Joon) sometime this June.
“Let’s Eat 3” first airs July 16, 2018 in South Korea.
Lee Je-Hoon has been offered the lead role in new OCN drama series “Priest.” Currently, he is considering the offer. Story for the drama series will feature a mixture of medical and horror (exorcism) genres. The drama series will be directed by Kim Sung-Su (“Save Me“).
“Priest” will first air during the second half of this year in South Korea.
Yoon Gyun-Sang has been offered the lead male role in JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now” co-starring Kim You-Jung. If he accepts, he will play Jang Sun-Gyeol. Currently, Yoon Gyun-Sang is considering the offer.
Actor/singer Ahn Hyo-Seop from boy band “One O One” was first cast to play Jang Sun-Gyeol, but he had to drop out of the drama series due to scheduling issues. Production of “Clean With Passion For Now” was temporarily halted earlier this year when Kim You-Jung experienced health issues and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Ahn Hyo-Seop was recently cast for SBS drama series “Thirty But Seventeen,” which airs in July, and, consequently, he cannot take part in “Clean With Passion For Now” when production resumes. “Clean With Passion Now” is tentatively scheduled to resume production August, 2018 with Kim You-Jung back and healthy again.
