Renji Ishibashi is cast in upcoming live-action film “Higanjima: Vampire Island” starring Shunya Shiraishi, Ryohei Suzuki and Minami Sakurai. In the live-action film, Renji Ishibashi will voice the character of Ryunosuke Aoyama. His character is also known as Shisho and is the leader of the resistance group of vampires.

Here’s the first still image of Erika Today in upcoming live-action film “Death Note: Light Up The New World.” In the scene, Misa Amane (Erika Toda) looks at a Death Note which she is holding in a dressing room. Misa Amane has lost her memory about the Death Note since she lost ownership of a Death Note 10 years ago.

Teaser trailer for upcoming movie “The Old Capital” starring Yasuko Matsuyuki, Ai Hashimoto & Riko Narumi. Movie is based on 1962 novel “Koto” by Yasunari Kawabata. 1963 film “Twin Sisters of Kyoto,” 1980 film “Koto” and 2005 TV Asahi drama special “Koto” are all based on the same novel.

Supporting cast has been announced for upcoming film “Haruko Azumi Is Missing” starring Yu Aoi and singer Huwie Ishizaki. Cast in the film in supporting roles are Mitsuki Takahata, Taiga, Shono Hayama, Ryo Kase, Akiko Kikuchi, Serina (ex-SDN48 member), Motoki Ochiai and Maho Yamada. Movie is based on 2013 novel “Azumi Haruko wa Yukuefumei” by Mariko Yamauchi and directed by Daigo Matsui.
In the upcoming film, Mitsuki Takahata will play 20-year-old Aina. Her character belongs to a group including characters played by Taiga and Shono Hayama. They draw graffiti on the streets. Aina has feelings for the character played by Taiga and he’s the primary reason she joined their group. Ryo Kase will play a police constable.
“Haruko Azumi Is Missing” is now scheduled for release sometime this December in Japan.
Sota Fukushi is cast in upcoming live-action film “Laughing Under the Clouds.” The live-action film is based on manga series “Donten ni Warau” by Karakara-Kemuri and will be directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro (“Bayside Shakedown“). In the film, Sota Fukushi will play Tenka Kumo. His character is one of three brothers who go up against the giant snake Orochi.
Filming for the movie begins June 18, 2016 and will finish by middle of August, 2016. “Laughing Under the Clouds” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Hideaki Takizawa (‘Tackey & Tsubasa’), Arioka Daiki (‘Hey! Say! JUMP’) & Mugi Kadowaki are cast in new movie “Kodomo Tsukai.” For Hideaki Takizawa, this will be his first lead acting role in a movie. Movie is written and directed by Takashi Shimizu (“Ju-on“/”Kiki’s Delivery Service“).
In the movie Hideaki Takizawa will play a mysterious man. His character manipulates children’s spirits and places curses on adults. Arioka Daiki will play newspaper reporter Shunya Ezaki. His character investigates the rumors of missing children and adults around the missing children dying. Mugi Kadowaki will play the girlfriend of newspaper reporter Shunya Ezaki.
“Kodomo Tsukai” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Shun Oguri is cast in upcoming live-action film “Gintama.” The movie is based on manga series “Gintama” by Hideaki Sorachi and directed by Yuichi Fukuda (“HK: Forbidden Super Hero“/”Jossy’s“). Story for the film is set in alternate universe, set around the Edo period, with aliens attacking Earth. Shun Oguri will play samurai Gintoki Sakata. Filming for “Gintama” begins this July and the movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Shiori Kutsuna is cast in upcoming based on a true story film “Kiseki: Ano Hi no Sobito” starring Tori Matsuzaka and Masaki Suda. A teaser trailer for the film has also been added on AsianWiki.
In the film, Shiori Kutsuna will play lead female character Rika. Her character is the girlfriend of Hide (Masaki Suda). The film is based on the true story of Japanese pop/rock/rap group “GreeeeN.” The band released the smash hit single “Kiseki” in 2008.
Also cast in supporting roles are Kaoru Kobayashi, Yumi Asou, Yuna Taira, Saori Koide, Eita Okuno & Toru Nomaguchi.
“Kiseki: Sobito of That Day” will be released sometime spring, 2017 in Japan.

“Will You Marry My Wife?” will be released November 5, 2016 in Japan.
Mackenyu is cast in upcoming live-action film “Peach Girl” co-starring Mizuki Yamamoto, Kei Inoo & Mei Nagano. Movie is based on manga series “Peach Girl” by Miwa Ueda & directed by Koji Shintoku (“Mars“).
In movie “Peach Girl,” Mackenyu will play Toji. Momo (Mizuki Yamamoto) has secretly held feelings for Toji since their middle school days. Toji, Momo and Kairi (Kei Inoo) become involved in a love triangle.
“Peach Girl” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
