Trailer and poster for movie “My Dad is a Heel Wrestler”

Trailer and poster added for upcoming movie “My Dad is a Heel Wrestler” starring real life professional wrestler Hiroshi Tanahashi, Yoshino Kimura and Kokoro Terada. Movie is based on picture books ’’Papa no Shigoto wa Warumono Desu” and “Papa wa Warumono Chanpion” by Masahiro Itabashi and directed by Kyohei Fujimura. The film follows the relationship between a father and son. The son learns his dad is a villain wrestler, but he tells his classmates something different.

“My Dad is a Heel Wrestler” is now set for release September 21, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Our Departures”

Teaser trailer and teaser poster added for movie “Our Departures” starring Kasumi Arimura and Jun Kunimura. The full Japanese title has also been updated to “Kazoku Iro: Railways Watashitachi no Shuppatsu: Railways Watashitachi no Shuppatsu.” Although the film doesn’t share the same characters or a continuing storyline, “Our Departures” is a sequel to 2010 film “Railways” and 2011 film “Crossroads.”

Release date for “Our Departures” is now set to leave the station on November 30, 2018 in Japan.

Masami Nagasawa and Masaki Okada cast in live-action film “Gintama 2”

Masami Nagasawa and Masaki Okada are cast in upcoming live-action sequel film “Gintama 2” starring Shun OguriMasaki SudaKanna Hashimoto. Masami Nagasawa and Masaki Okada will reprise their roles of Tae Shimura and Kotaro Katsura that they played in 2017 film “Gintama.” In addition, Elizabeth, the pet of Kotaro Katsura (Masaki Okada), will also appear in “Gintama 2.” In the 2017 film “Gintama,” actor Takayuki Yamada voiced the character of Elizabeth.

“Gintama 2” will be released August 17, 2018 in Japan.

Ren Nagase & Yuta Jinguji cast in movie “Uchi no Shitsuji ga Iu Koto niwa”

Ren Nagase from idol group “King & Prince” is cast for the lead role in movie “Uchi no Shitsuji ga Iu Koto niwa.” Also cast in a supporting role is Yuta Jinguji from ‘King & Prince.’ The film is based on novel series “Uchi no Shitsuji ga Iu Koto niwa” by Shiina Takasato and directed by Shinji Kuma. In the film, Ren Nagase plays Kaei Karasuma. He is the successor to the prestigious Karasuma family.

Filming for “Uchi no Shitsuji ga Iu Koto niwa” began May 17, 2018 and will finish at the end of June, 2018. “Uchi no Shitsuji ga Iu Koto niwa” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Hikaru Yamazaki cast in movie “Makuko”

Hikaru Yamazaki is cast for main character role in movie “Makuko.” Also cast in supporting roles are NinonTsuyoshi Kusanagi and Risa Sudo. The film follows 5th grade student Satoshi played by Hikaru Yamazaki. Ninon will play transfer student Kozue, while Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Risa Sudo will play the parents of Satoshi. Movie “Makuko” is based on 2016 novel “Makuko” by Kanako Nishi (“The Round Table“) and directed by Keiko Tsuruoka.

“Makuko” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Tatsuya Fujiwara cast in movie “Diner”

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast in movie “Diner.” The film is based on 2012 novel “Diner” by Yumeaki Hirayama and the movie is directed by Mika Ninagawa. For Mika Ninagawa, “Diner” is her third directed feature film following 2007 film “Sakuran” and 2012 film “Helter Skelter.” In the movie, Tatsuya Fujiwara will play Bombero. He is the owner and chef of a members only restaurant whose clients are all contract killers.

Filming for “Diner” started April 24, 2018 and filming will finish early next month. “Diner” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Movie “Ao no Kaerimichi” set for release this winter

Movie “Ao no Kaerimichi,” starring Erina Mano, has completed production and is now set for release sometime this winter in Japan. Filming for “Ao no Kaerimichi” began August, 2016, but actor Yuta Takahata was arrested for sexual assault against a hotel employee on August 23, 2016 and filming for the movie was haulted. A year later, filming resumed on August 4, 2017 with Junki Tozuka taking the place of Yuta Takahata and filming finished August 13, 2017. Story for “Ao no Kaerimichi” is a coming-of-age film and follows 7 young people.
