Erika Toda cast in live-action film “Death Note 2016”

Erika Toda is cast in upcoming live-action film “Death Note 2016” also starring Masahiro Higashide, Sosuke Ikematsu & Masaki Suda. Erika Toda made her movie acting debut in 2006 film “Death Note” and also appeared in “Death Note: The Last Name”  and “L: Change the World.”

In “Death Note 2016,” Erika Toda will reprise her role of Misa Amane. In the film, which is set 10 years later, Misa Amane has lost her memory of the death note since she gave up possession of it, but her love for Kira has not disappeared. Misa Amane works as an actress. Her memory of the confrontation between Kira and L becomes a key to the chaos caused by the 6 current death notes.

Release date for “Death Note 2016” is now set for October 29, 2016 in Japan.

Main trailer for movie “The Magnificent Nine”

Main trailer & English subtitled teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “The Magnificent Nine” (English title) starring Sadao Abe, Eita, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Karen Iwata, Yuko Takeuchi & Ryuhei Matsuda. Movie is based on the story“Kokudaya Juzaburo” by Michifumi Isoda (“Abacus and Sword“) and directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura (“Fish Story“).

Story for “The Magnificent Nine” is set in 18th century Japan and revolves a poor town that is mired in poverty due to heavy taxes owed to its feudal lord. Residents scheme a plan to make money for its residents, but if they are discovered they will lose their heads literally.

“The Magnificent Nine” opens May 14, 2016 in Japan.

poster and supporting cast announced for movie “Desperate Sunflowers”

Teaser poster added for upcoming movie “Desperate Sunflowers” starring Yo Yoshida and Yoshino Kimura. In addition, more supporting cast members have been announced for the movie which includes Aoi Nakamura, Nozomi SasakiYuta Furukawa & Rena Tanaka.

Story for “Desperate Sunflowers” follows two distant relatives. One woman is straight laced attorney and the other a swindler. For the movie, Aoi Nakamura will play Masaru Isozaki. His character is a lawyer who works at the same office as Tetsuko Ishida (Yo Yoshida). Yuta Furukawa will play Shunsuke Ota. His character becomes involved in a fraud case with Natsuko (Yoshino Kimura). Nozomi Sasaki will play Marina Kamiya. Her character is the fiance of Shunsuke Ota.

“Desperate Sunflowers” will be released June 25, 2016 in Japan.

Masaki Suda & Nana Komatsu cast in live-action film “Oboreru Knife”

Masaki Suda & Nana Komatsu are cast in live-action film “Oboreru Knife.” Also cast in supporting roles are Daiki Shigeoka (‘Johnny’s WEST’) and Mone Kamishiraishi. Movie is based on manga series “Oboreru Knife” by George Asakura (“Piece of Cake“) and directed by Yuki Yamato (“Itsutsu Kazoereba Kimi no Yume“).

In live-action film “Oboreru Knife,” Nana Komatsu plays Natsume Mochizuki. Her character is a teen model in Tokyo, but she has to move a small rural town with her family. There, she meets Koichiro Hasegawa (Masaki Suda). His character comes from a wealthy and well respected family.

“Oboreru Knife” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Mariya Nishiuchi cast in live-action film “Cutie Honey: Tears”

Actress Mariya Nishiuchi is cast in upcoming live-action film “Cutie Honey: Tears.” Movie is based on manga series”Cutie Honey” by Go Nagai and will be directed by A.T.

Mariya Nishiuchi will play main character Honey Kisaragi aka Cutie Honey. Her character is android possessing human emotions. She goes up against an evil organization that threatens mankind.

Filming for “Cutie Honey: Tears” finished December, 2015 and the film will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Kento Yamazaki & Haruna Kawaguchi are cast in live-action film “One Week Friends”

Kento Yamazaki & Haruna Kawaguchi are cast in live-action film “One Week Friends.” Movie is based on manga series “Isshukan Friends” by Matcha Hazuki and directed by Shosuke Murakami (“Train Man“/”Threads of Destiny“).

In live-action film “One Week Friends,” Kento Yamazaki plays high school student Yuki Hase. His character attempts to befriend Kaori Fujimiya (Haruna Kawaguchi). Kaori Fujimiya is a loner without any friends. Yuki Hase learns from Kaori Fujimiya that she has short term memory loss and forgets her friends by Monday.

Filming for “One Week Friends” was completed in December, 2015 and the movie will be released sometime in February, 2017.
