Tori Matsuzaka is cast in new movie “Call Boy” (literal title). The movie is based on 2001 novel “Shonen” by Ira Ishida (“Akihabara@DEEP“) and directed by Daisuke Miura (“Love’s Whirlpool“). Tori Matsuzaka previously performed in a stage play version of “Shonen” from August to September, 2016. In the movie, Tori Matsuzaka will play bored college student Ryo Morinaka. He begins to work at a host bar, fulfilling the desires of women.
“Call Boy” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.
Teaser visual (poster) and supporting cast added for movie “Tonight, At Romance Theater” (literal title) starring Haruka Ayase and Kentaro Sakaguchi. Movie is directed by Hideki Takeuchi and screenplay written by Keisuke Uyama.
Newly announced supporting cast members for the film are Tsubasa Honda, Kazuki Kitamura, Akiyoshi Nakao, Akira Emoto, Anna Ishibashi and Go Kato. Story for “Tonight, At Romance Theater” has Haruka Ayase playing movie character Princess Miyuki and Kentaro Sakaguchi playing aspiring movie director Kenji. Princess Miyuki comes out from a black and white film and Kenji falls in love with her.
“Tonight, At Romance Theater” will be released February, 2018 in Japan.
Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa are cast in movie “Masquerade Hotel.” The film is based on 2011 novel “Masquerade Hotel” by Keigo Higashino. The movie also reunites director Masayuki Suzuki and actor Takuya Kimura. The pair famously worked together in hit Fuji TV drama series “Hero” and movie “Hero.” Story for “Masquerade Hotel” has Takuya Kimura playing a detective and Masami Nagasawa playing a front desk clerk at a hotel. A serial killer has left clues that his next murder will take place at the hotel and Takuya Kimura’s character goes undercover as a front desk clerk to catch the killer.
Filming for “Masquerade Hotel” began October 7, 2017 and will finish in the middle of next month. The film will be released sometime in 2019.
Trailer added for upcoming movie “Kita no Sakuramori” starring Sayuri Yoshinaga and Masato Sakai. Movie is directed by Yojiro Takita (“Departures“). Story for the film follows the relationship between a mother and her son. In 1945, the mother played by Sayuri Yoshinaga fled with her two sons from the Russians to Hokkaido. In 1972, her son played by Masato Sakai returns to Japan after finding success in the U.S.
“Kita no Sakuramori” will be released March 10, 2018 in Japan.
Trailer for movie “Vigilante” starring Nao Omori, Kosuke Suzuki and Kenta Kiritani. Movie is written and directed by Yu Irie. The film follows three brothers who reunite for the first time in 30 years. One of the brothers runs a call girl service, the other is a local city government official and the eldest brother comes back after disappearing when he was a high school student.

Reo Sano (‘GENERATIONS’), Taishi Nakagawa, Mahiro Takasugi and Ryusei Yokohama are cast in live-action film “Rainbow Days” (literal title). The film is based on manga “Nijiiro Deizu” by Minami Mizuno and directed by Ken Iizuka. In the film, the four young men play high school students who are best friends. Their lives change after Reo Sano’s character Natsuki Hashiba develops a crush on a high school student. Filming for the movie will take place from October to November, 2017 and filming will take place in the suburbs of Tokyo.

Trailer and poster for movie “Spiritual Bolsheviki” starring Hanae Kan. Movie is written and directed by Hiroshi Takahashi. Premise for the film has 7 people gathered in a room at a warehouse. There’s a microphone and an analog tape recorder there. All 7 people have experience with communicating with the afterlife.

Trailer for movie “Yocho Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha Gekijoban” starring Kaho, Shota Sometani and Masahiro Higashide. Movie is based on a theatrical play “Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha” and Kiyoshi Kurosawa. The film is a re-edited version of WOWOW drama series “Yocho Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha.” Kiyoshi Kurosawa adapted the theater play “Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha” into movie “Before We Vanish” and WOWOW drama series “Yocho Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha,” with different characters and story in each version. Both share the underlying premise of aliens having invaded Earth and taking over the bodies of humans.
“Yocho Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha Gekijoban” will be released November 11, 2017 in Japan and will show for 2 weeks only.
Main trailer added for movie “Uso wo Aisuru Onna” starring Masami Nagasawa and Issei Takahashi. Movie is written and directed by first time film director Kazuhito Nakae. Story for “Uso wo Aisuru Onna” (literally “Woman Who Loves Lie”) follows a couple who lived together for 5 years. The woman then discovers everything she knew about the man was a lie.
“Uso wo Aisuru Onna” opens January 20, 2018 in Japan.
