Ai Hashimoto is cast for a major supporting character role in movie “Oz Land” starring Haru and Hidetoshi Nishijima.
Ai Hashimoto will play Yayoi Tamachi in movie “Oz Land.” She works with Kurumi Namihiro (Haru) and Yoshiko Ozuka (Hidetoshi Nishijima) at an amusement park. She has a bright personality, which is different from her character in the original novel. “Oz Land” is based on 2015 novel “Ozu no Sekai” by Yoichi Komori and directed by Takafumi Hatano.
“Oz Land” will be released sometime this fall in Japan.

Ryunosuke Kamiki & Kasumi Arimura are cast for lead roles in movie “Fortuna’s Eye.” The film is based on novel “Forutuna no Hitomi” by Naoki Hyakuta (“The Eternal Zero“) and directed by Takahiro Miki. Story for the film follows a young man (Ryunosuke Kamiki) with the special ability to see through the bodies of people who are soon to die. The woman he likes is played by Kasumi Arimura and he is able to suddenly see through her body.

The film follows a husband and wife who must a difficult choice after their daughter falls into a coma and is later determined to be brain dead.

Hana Sugisaki, Taiga, Satoru Kawaguchi, Chizuru Ikewaki and Jun Kunimura are cast in omnibus film “Ten Years Japan.” The movie will consist of 5 different segments and includes directors Akiyo Fujimura and Kei Ishikawa. The film is also produced by award-winning director Hirokazu Koreeda. Topics in the omnibus film cover Japan’s aging population, air pollution, artificial intelligence, & military service, all told in unique stories.

Masami Hisamoto and Tomomi Itano (ex-‘AKB48’ member) are cast in movie “Imagination Game.” The film revolves around two women, each with an unusual online presence. Masami Hisamoto is a hard working OL woman, but she is also known as a charismatic goddess on a website. Tomomi Itano plays a young woman who runs a blog about getting revenge on husbands.

Movie is based on manga “Anoko no Toriko” by Yuki Shiraishi and directed by Ryo Miyawaki. Story for “Anoko no Toriko” revolves around a love triangle between three teenagers who have been friends since their childhoods.

Gen Hoshino is cast for the lead role in new movie “Hikkoshi Daimyo.” Also cast in major supporting roles are Issei Takahashi and Mitsuki Takahata. The film is based on 2016 novel “Hikkoshi Daimyo Sanzenri” by Akihiro Dobashi (“Samurai Hustle“) and directed by Isshin Inudo. In the film, Gen Hoshino plays bookworm samurai Harunosuke Katagiri. He receives a mission to help a daimyo move.
Filming for “Hikkoshi Daimyo” will take place from May to June, 2018 and the movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Chieko Baisho, Tatsuya Fuji and Mikako Ichikawa are cast in live-action film “Hatsukoi: Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita.” The film is based on manga series “Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” by Keiko Nishi and directed by Shotaro Kobayashi (“Kaasan Mom’s Life“). In the film, Chieko Baisho and Tatsuya Fuji play a married elderly couple. One of their children is played by Mikako Ichikawa. Drama ensues when the mother tells the daughter that she wants a divorce.
“Hatsukoi: Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” will be released spring, 2019 in Japan.
