Anna Yamada and Shuhei Uesugi are cast in TV Asahi-ABC drama series “Sachiiro no One Room.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Sachiiro no One Room” by Hakuri and will be directed by Ryuichi Honda. The drama series follows a 14-year-old girl who lives a difficult life. She is then kidnapped by a young man.

Kento Yamazaki is cast for the lead role in Fuji TV drama series “Good Doctor.” The drama series is a remake of 2013 KBS2 drama series “Good Doctor” starring Joo Won and Moon Chae-Won. For the “Good Doctor,” Kento Yamazaki will play Minato Shindo. He has savant syndrome and his memory is genius like, but he difficulty with basic communication with others. Further castings for the drama series will be announced at a later date.

Haru and Yusuke Iseya are cast in new NTV drama series “Survival Wedding.” The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Survival Wedding” by Kosuke Ohashi and directed by Toya Sato. In the drama series, Haru will play Sayaka Kuroki. After breaking off her engagement and needing to find a job, an editor offers her a chance to get her job back, but she must meet two conditions.

Toru Nakamura is cast in new TV Tokyo drama series “Last Chance.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kippei Shiina, Masato Wada, Ryohei Otani, Masanobu Katsumura, Miki Mizuno, Kyoko Hasegawa, Hirotaro Honda, Masanori Ishii, Keita Machida, Kyusaku Shimada, Mickey Curtis and Raita Ryu. The business themed drama series is based on 2018 novel “Last Chance: Saisei Ukeoinin“ by Go Egami. In the drama series Toru Nakamura will play Tetsuo Kashimura. He was a bank executive but quit his job after a company merger. He is then hired to restore a franchise restaurant chain.

Ikki Sawamura & Aya Ueto are cast in new Fuji TV sequel dram series “Absolute Zero 3.” Ikki Sawamura will play new lead character Norito Izawa, while Aya Ueto will reprise her character of Izumi Sakuragi, but in a supporting role. Izumi Sakuragi will hold a key to the mystery in the story.

Gou Ayano is cast in new TV Asahi drama series “Hagetaka.” The drama series is based on novel series “Hagetaka” by Jin Mayama. 2009 movie “The Vulture” and 2007 NHK drama series “Hagetaka: Road to Rebirth” are also based on novels from the same series. In the drama series, Gou Ayano will play main character Masahiko Washizu. He is called a vulture due to his penchant to buy companies during the company’s time of weakness.

Riho Yoshioka is cast in Fuji TV-KTV live-action drama series “Kenko de Bunkatekina Saiteigendo no Seikatsu.” Also cast in supporting roles are Arata Iura, Kei Tanaka and Kenichi Endo. The drama series is based on manga “Kenko de Bunkatekina Saiteigendo no Seikatsu” by Haruko Kashiwagi and directed by Keita Motohashi. In the drama series, Riho Yoshioka will play a young woman who begins work as a social worker. She has doubts about her ability to do the job.

Ryo is cast for NTV-YTV live-action drama special “Manager Rinko Kazehana’s Love” (literal title). The drama special is based on manga “Kaichou Shima Kousaku Tokubetsuhen Bucho Kazehana Rinko no Koi” by Kenshi Hirokane. For “Manager Rinko Kazehana’s Love,” Ryo will play title character Rinko Kazehana. She experiences trouble at work and in her love life.

Shigeaki Kato from boy band ‘NEWS’ is cast for the lead role in NTV drama series “Zero: Ikkaku Senkin Game.” In addition, fellow ‘NEWS’ members Keiichiro Koyama, Takahisa Masuda and Yuya Tegoshi will make cameo appearances in the drama series. Story for the drama series will revolve around a death game where contestants risk their lives for a chance to win 100 billion yen.
“Zero: Ikkaku Senkin Game” first airs July, 2018 in Japan.
Kazuya Kamenashi (‘KAT-TUN’) is cast in TV Tokyo drama special “Tegami: Keigo Higashino.” The drama special is based on award winning novel “Tegami” by Keigo Higashino. The novel was previously adapted into 2006 film “The Letters” starring Takayuki Yamada, Erika Sawajiri and Tetsuji Tamayama. In the drama special, Kazuya Kamenashi will play Naoki Takeshima. 4 years earlier, his older brother committed a crime so Naoki Takeshima could attend a university and his older brother went to prison. Naoki Takeshima is now tagged as the younger brother of a criminal.
Air date of “Tegami: Keigo Higashino” has yet to be announced.
