Kei Tanaka, Kotaro Yoshida and Kento Hayashi are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Ossan’s Love.” The drama series is like a reprise of 2016 TV Asahi drama special “Ossan’s Love” which also starred Kei Tanaka & Kotaro Yoshida playing the same characters, but has a slightly different story. Kento Hayashi appears in a major supporting role in the drama series, but did not appear in the drama special. Story for the drama series “Ossan’s Love” has Kei Tanaka playing 33-year-old Soichi Haruta. He’s completely straight, but finds that a senior co-worker and his roommate like him.

Rika Adachi is cast in new BS Japan drama series “Uwasa no Onna.” The drama series is based on short story collection “Uwasa no Onna” by Hideo Okuda and will be directed by Ken Iizuka. Rika Adachi will play mysterious Miyuki Itoi. Her name appears in rumors in the small town where she lives. The men that are associated with her die one by one.

Toshiaki Karasawa is cast in TBS drama special “Complete Remission.” Also cast in major supporting character roles are Atsuro Watabe, Mitsuhiro Oikawa and Kumiko Aso. The drama special has Toshiaki Karasawa playing cancer doctor Noriaki Natsume. He receives a patient with terminal cancer, but after the patient receives a lump sum payout from his life insurance policy … the patient goes in remission. Shortly later, the same thing happens with another terminal cancer patient. Noriaki Natsume enlists the help of his friend/colleague Yuma Hashima (Atsuro Watabe) and friend/insurance company employee Yuichi Morikawa (Mitsuhiro Oikawa) to solve the mystery.

Yua Shinkawa, Sairi Itoh and Masaya Kato are cast in Fuji TV-Tokai TV drama series “Itsumademo Shiroi Hane.” The drama series is based on 2009 novel “Itsumademo Shiroi Hane” by Yoko Fujioka. Yua Shinkawa will play main character Rumi Kizaki. After failing to get into a university, she enrolls in a nursing program, but she doesn’t think she wants to become a nurse. After meeting her colleagues, patients and her first love, she realizes she wants to become a nurse.
“Itsumademo Shiroi Hane” first airs April 7, 2018 in Japan.
Erina Mano and Ryusei Yokohama are cast in dTV-FOD drama series “Kareshi wo Ron de Kaimashita” (literally “I Bought a Boyfriend with a Loan”). In the drama series, Erina Mano plays Tae Ukishima. She works at the front desk of a company and dates an employee there. She would like to marry her boyfriend and takes up the persona of a naive and shy person in front of him. Meanwhile, to relieve her stress she decides to purchase a boyfriend played by Ryusei Yokohama.
“Kareshi wo Ron de Kaimashita” will be available for viewing from March 9, 2018 in Japan.
Asami Mizukawa is cast in upcoming WOWOW drama series “Double Fantasy.” The drama series is based on 2009 novel “Double Fantasy” by Yuka Murayama (“Angel’s Egg“). The novel won several awards including the “22th Shibata Renzaburo Award,” “16th Shimase Renai Literary Prize” and “The 4th Chuokoron Literary Prize.”
In the drama series, Asami Mizukawa plays 35-year-old screenwriter Natsu Takato. She has a strong sexual desire and uses her adventures to stimulate her writing. Even though she is married, she gets involved with several men. Cast in supporting roles are Kei Tanaka, Hidekazu Mashima, Shuntaro Yanagi, Hiroaki Murakami, Yukiko Shinohara and Yumi Takigawa.
“Double Fantasy” will first air summer, 2018 in Japan.
Osamu Mukai and Aya Ueto are cast in NHK live-action drama special “Taiyo wo Ai Shita Hito.” The drama series is based on manga “Taiyo no Chugen-tachi yo: Shintai Shogaisha to Aru Ishi no Chosen” by Yoshihiro Saegusa. The manga itself is based on the true story of Yutaka Nakamura. Yutaka Nakamura was a doctor who helped introduce the Tokyo Paralympic Games and the general idea of using organized physical activities as part of a rehab process for disabled people.
“Taiyo wo Ai Shita Hito” will air sometime this summer in Japan.
Trailer added for Hulu drama series “Miss Sherlock” starring Yuko Takeuchi and Shihori Kanjiya. The drama series reinterprets Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson characters and places them in present day Japan as women. In addition, supporting cast members have been revealed for the 8 episode drama series. Now cast in supporting roles are Kenichi Takito, Tomoya Nakamura, Ryohei Otani, Yukiyoshi Ozawa, Yuki Saito and Ran Ito.
“Miss Sherlock” will be available for streaming from Hulu Japan on April 27, 2018 and HBO Asia will also broadcast the drama series from April 27, 2018 in 19 additional countries.

Trailer for upcoming Amazon drama series “Shiro to Kiiro: Hawaii to Watashi no Pancake Monogatari” starring Haruna Kawaguchi. The drama series is based on a true story and follows Natsumi Sawano (Haruna Kawaguchi) as she brings the concept of pancake restaurants from Hawaii to Japan.

Ryunosuke Kamiki is cast for the lead role in new NHK drama series “School Lawyer” (Yakeni Ben no Tatsu Bengoshi ga Gakko de Hoeru). In addition, Seiichi Tanabe, Yukino Kishii, Mari Hamada, Daikichi Sugawara, Kazuki Kosakai and Kaho Minami are cast in supporting roles for the drama series. For “School Lawyer,” Ryunosuke Kamiki will play rookie lawyer Shotaro Taguchi. His law office sends him to work at a middle school following a new school lawyer system. He then finds himself in the middle of a corporal punishment case.
