Keiko Kitagawa & Kazuki Kitamura are cast in TV Asahi drama special “Shitei Bengoshi.” The drama series is based on an original screenplay by Takeharu Sakurai. In the drama series Keiko Kitagawa will play attorney Yui Hitotsugi based out of Kyoto. She is asked to prosecute a case involving a politician and the sale of nationally owned land to a corporation. She receives the help of prosecutor Shinji Tachibana (Kazuki Kitamura) in the case.
“Shitei Bengoshi” will air sometime this September in Japan.
Satoshi Tsumabuki and Mao Inoue are cast for lead roles in new TV Asahi drama special “Ranhansha.” The drama special is based on novel “Ranhansha” by Tokuro Nukui and directed by Yuya Ishii. Satoshi Tsumabuki and Yuya Ishii previously team up in movies “Our Family” and “The Vancouver Asahi.” In addition, Satoshi Tsumabuki starred in movie “Gukoroku: Traces of Sin” which is also based on a novel by Tokuro Nukui.
For drama special “Ranhansha,” Satoshi Tsumabuki & Mao Inoue play a married couple. Their young son dies in an accident which causes the parents to look for answers.
“Ranhansha” will air sometime this autumn in Japan.

Aoi Morikawa and Yuu Shirota are cast in TBS-MBS live-action drama series “Bungaku Shojo.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Bungaku Shojo” by Mayaka Nakano. In the drama series, Aoi Mirikawa will play editor Kanoko Tsukishiro and Yuu Shirota will play novelist Saku Kagaya. The two fall in love.
“Bungaku Shojo” first airs September 9, 2018 in Japan.
Issei Takahashi is cast in new Fuji TV drama series “Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru.” The drama series is scripted by Atsuko Hashibe and directed by Keita Kono & Kazunari Hoshino. In the drama series, Issei Takahashi will play Kazuki Aikawa. He teaches the subject of ethology (study of animal behavior), but has peculiar teaching methods.

Yuji Oda and Yuto Nakajima (‘Hey! Say! JUMP’) are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Suits.” The drama series is a remake of U.S. cable TV series “Suits” and follows the Korean remake “Suits” from earlier this year. Yuji Oda will play Shogo Kai who is a veteran attorney, focused solely on winning cases. Yuto Nakajima will play Daiki Suzuki. He has high intelligence and a photographic like memory, but has resorted to petty crimes because of financial problems. Shogo Kai hires him to work as an attorney.
Filming begins August, 2018 and the drama series will first air October, 2018 in Japan.
Kento Nakajima (‘Sexy Zone’) and Kenichi Endo are cast in live-action NTV drama series “Dorokei.” The drama series is based on manga “Dorokei” by Shu Fukuda. Taro Otani and Satoru Nakajima are scheduled to direct the drama series. In the drama series, Kento Nakajima will play Detective Tsutomu Madara and Kenichi Endo will play master thief Garasu Kemuri. The duo works together to solve cases.

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast in movie “The Sun Does Not Move” (literal title) and WOWOW drama series “The Sun Does Not Move” (literal title). The movie version is based on Shuichi Yoshida novel’s “Taiyo wa Ugokanai” and “Mori wa Shitte Iru,” while the WOWOW drama series will have an original screenplay. In the movie and drama series, Tatsuya Fujiwara will play main character Kazuhiko Takano. He is part of a spy organization “An Tsuushin” and they are after innovative solar energy technology that other countries are attempting to attain. Filming for the movie and drama series will take place simultaneously and filming will take place in Japan and overseas. Eiichiro Hasumi will direct the movie and drama series.
Movie “The Sun Does Not Move” will be released in 2020 and the WOWOW drama series will air sometime in 2020.
Erika Toda & Tsuyoshi Muro are cast in new TBS drama series “Great Love: With You Who Forget Me” (literal title of “Dai Renai: Boku o Wasureru Kimi to”). The drama series is based on an original screenplay by Shizuka Oishi and directed by Fuminori Kaneko. Story for the drama series is a romance melodrama with Erika Toda and Tusyoshi Muro playing two people who have fallen in love, but Erika Toda’s character is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Mitsuki Takahata is cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget.” The drama series is based on manga series “Boukyaku no Sachiko” by Jun Abe. TV Tokyo already aired a 1 episode “Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget” drama special version on January 2, 2018 with Mitsuki Takahata playing main character Sachiko Sasaki. Director Santa Yamagishi and screenwriter Satomi Oshima, who worked on the TV Tokyo drama special, will also return to work on the drama series version.
Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget” first airs October, 2018 in Japan.
Shuhei Nomura and Rin Takanashi are cast in new Fuji TV-Tokai TV drama series “Kekkon Aite wa Chusen de.” The drama series is based 2010 novel “Kekkon Aite wa Chusen de” by Miu Kakiya. Also cast in supporting roles are Ryohei Otani, Aimi Satsukawa and Mayumi Wakamura. The drama series is set around Japan implementing a new policy to combat the nation’s low birthrate. Their new policy is mandatory blind dates for single individuals from the age of 25 to 39.
