Hiroaki Murakami, Ayame Gouriki and Takanori Jinnai are cast in TV Tokyo drama special “Gosa.” Drama special is based on short story “Gosa” by Seicho Matsumoto. For drama special “Gosa,” Hiroaki Murakami and Ayame Gouriki will play detectives. They investigate the death of a woman at a hot spring. Takanori Jinnai plays a forensics professor.
“Gosa” will first air May 10, 2017 in Japan.
Tomoya Nagase (‘TOKIO’) and Riho Yoshioka are cast for the lead roles in new TBS drama series “Sorry, I Love You” (literal title). The drama series is a remake of 2004 SBS drama series “Sorry, I Love You” which stars So Ji-Sub and Lim Soo-Jung in the lead roles. Also cast in major supporting character roles are Kentaro Sakaguchi and Shinobu Otake. In the upcoming drama series, Tomoya Nagase will play Ritsu Okazaki. After he tracks down his mother, who he thought abandoned him because of poverty, he learns she is living a good life and has a son. He decides to take revenge.

Here’s a teaser poster for upcoming Fuji TV drama series “The Aristocrat Detective” (literal title) starring Masaki Aiba & Emi Takei. In addition, Haruka Kinami is cast to play a major supporting character role. In the drama series, Haruka Kinami will play Yoriko Tamamura. Her character is the daughter of a CEO in charge of running a large company. In ep.1, a murder case takes place at a mountain retreat owned by Yoriko Tamamura’s father.

Eita is cast in upcoming live-action TBS drama series “Hello Hari Nezumi.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kyoko Fukada, Go Morita and Tomoko Yamaguchi. The drama series is based on manga “Haro Hari Nezumi” by Kenshi Hirokane and directed by Hitoshi One. In the drama series, Eita will play Goro Nanase. He works with Kyusaku Kogure (Go Morita) and Kaoru Kaze (Tomoko Yamaguchi) at Akatsuka Detective Agency.

Osamu Mukai & Takumi Saito are cast in new WOWOW drama series “Akira and Akira” (literal title). The drama series is based on novel “Akira to Akira” by Jun Ikeido. Numerous Jun Ikeido novels have been adapted into drama series with his most successful being “Hanzawa Naoki.” In drama series “Akira and Akira,” Osamu Mukai and Takumi Saito will play two men with the name of Akira. They come from different backgrounds, but end up working at the same bank.

Gen Hoshino is cast in new WOWOW drama series “Plage.” The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Purajyu” by Tetsuya Honda (“Strawberry Night“) and directed by Yasuhiro Yoshida. WOWOW previously adapted another Tetsuya Honda novel into 2012 drama series “Hitorishizuka” starring Kaho. Drama series “Plage” centers around 32-year-old Takao played by Gen Hoshino. To break the boredom in his life, he decides to go somewhere new, but he ends being arrested for taking a drug stimulant which he did not know he was taking. Eventually he ends up living at the share house “Plage.”
“Plage” will air sometime this summer in Japan.
Ryohei Suzuki is cast in live-action WOWOW drama series “Kenji Miyazawa’s Table” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga “Miyazawa Kenji no Shokutaku” by Santa Uonome. Story for the drama series is set in the 1920’s and follows the life of Kenji Miyazawa. He leaves behind his wealthy family to live on his own, but moves back after his family becomes worried about him. He eventually takes a teaching job.

Masaki Okada, Tori Matsuzaka, Yuya Yagira are cast in NTV drama special “We’re Millennials Got a Problem?” The drama special is set one year after NTV drama series “We’re Millennials Got a Problem?” and Kankuro Kudo returns as screenwriter. The drama series revolves around three millennials who grew up in the yutori system (Japanese educational system that emphasizes a pressure-free education, but criticized as producing students who lack compettiveness).
