Tetsuji Tamayama, Shosuke Tanihara & Atsuro Watabe cast in drama series “Hanzai Shokogun Season 1” and “Hanzai Shokogun Season 2”

Tetsuji Tamayama, Shosuke Tanihara & Atsuro Watabe are cast in Tokai TV drama series “Hanzai Shokogun Season 1” and WOWOW drama series “Hanzai Shokogun Season 2.” The drama series are based on novels “Shisso Shokogun” & “Yukai Shokogun” by Tokuro Nukui and will be directed by Shosuke Murakami & Junichi Tsuzuki.

Story for the drama series will follow Takashi Muto (Tetsuji Tamayama) and Wataru Kabugari (Shosuke Tanihara). They are detectives who worked together. Takshi Muto’s only immediate family member was his younger sister and Wataru Kabugari dated Takashi’s sister, but she is murdered by a minor. Season 1 will focus on the story of Takashi Muto and season 2 will focus on the story of Wataru Kabugari.

“Hanzai Shokogun Season 1” airs on Tokai TV beginning April, 2017 and “Hanzai Shokogun Season 2” airs on WOWOW beginning June 11, 2017.

Hiroki Hasegawa & Masaki Okada cast in TBS drama series “Small Giant”

Hiroki Hasegawa & Masaki Okada are cast in new TBS drama series “Small Giant” (“Chiisana Kyojin”). Also cast in supporting roles are Ken Yasuda, Shota Shunputei, Taro Suruga, Toru Tezuka & Katsumi Kiba. In the drama series, Hiroki Hasegawa will play Shinichiro Kosaka. He works as a detective at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He makes a mistake though and gets demoted to a police station. There, he finds detectives that may have less skills, but work earnestly to solve even the simple cases.

Arata Horii, Yuki Yamada & Ryo Mitsuya are cast in new TBS drama series “3 Papas” (literal title). Also cast in supporting roles are Airi Matsui, Itsuki Sagara & Mari Hamada. Premise for the drama series has Arata Horii, Yuki Yamada & Ryo Mitsuya playing housemates of a sharehouse who one day find a baby in their house. A note says “the baby is yours.”

Haru, Masahiro Higashide, Riisa Naka & Nobuyuki Suzuki (‘Gekidan EXILE’) are all cast in new live-action TBS drama series “Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo.” The drama series is based on manga “Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo” by Ryo Ikuemi. Story for the drama series follows the relationship between a newlywed woman, her husband, her first love and his wife.

Rin Takanashi cast in NTV live-action drama series “Koi ga Heta demo Ikitemasu”

Rin Takanashi is cast in new NTV live-action drama series “Koi ga Heta demo Ikitemasu.” Also cast in supporting roles are Kei Tanaka, Kaho Tsuchimura & Yasushi Fuchikami. The drama series is based on manga series “Koi ga Heta demo Ikitemasu” by Akira Fujiwara and directed by Kentaro Otani. In the upcoming live-action drama series, Rin Takanashi plays Misa Chigasaki. She works at a gaming app company and hopes to become the CEO one day, but her love life always finds difficulties.

Tatsuya Fujiwara and Erika Toda cast in TBS drama series “Reverse”

Tatsuya Fujiwara and Erika Toda are cast in new TBS drama series “Reverse.” The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Reverse” by Kanae Minato (“Confessions“/”The Snow White Murder Case“). In the drama series, they will play main characters Kazuhisa Fukase and Mihoko Ochi. They meet at a coffee shop and become boyfriend and girlfriend. Meanwhile, the death of a former university classmate on a snowboarding trip looms in the background. Also cast in supporting roles are Yuta Tamamori, Teppei Koike, Takahiro Miura, Mugi Kadowaki, Hayato Ichihara, You, Kotaro Shiga, Nagisa Katahira and Tetsuya Takeda.

Masaki Aiba and Emi Takei cast in Fuji TV drama series “The Aristocrat Detective”

Masaki Aiba (‘Arashi’) and Emi Takei are cast in new Fuji TV drama series “The Aristocrat Detective” (literal title). Also cast in supporting roles are Katsuhisa Namase, Haruka Igawa, Kenichi Takito, Miho Nakayama and Yutaka Matsushige. Yukie Nakama is also cast for the drama series, but her character has not yet been revealed. Drama series “The Aristocrat Detective” is based on 2010 novel “Kizoku Tantei” by Yutaka Maya. For the drama series, Masaki Aiba will play the title character who calls himself the “Aristocrat Detective.”  He doesn’t actually solve the cases himself, but has his employees like his chauffeur (Kenichi Takito), maid (Miho Nakayama) and butler (Yutaka Matsushige) carry out the investigations. Emi Takei will play Aika Takatoku. She is also a detective and competes with the Aristocrat Detective to solve cases.

Erina Mano cast in NHK drama series “There’s No Easy Job in This World”

Erina Mano is cast in new NHK drama series “There’s No Easy Job in This World” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Kono Yo ni Tayasui Shigoto wa Nai” by Kikuko Tsumura and will be directed by Ayato Matsuda. In the drama series, Erina Mano will play main character Kasumi. She is in her late 20’s and lands her dream job as an elementary school teacher. But she quickly burns out from her job and quits. With her finances dwindling, Kasumi decides to take on a series of short-term jobs.

Erika Sawajiri cast in NTV drama series “Become a Mother”

Erika Sawajiri cast in new NTV drama series “Become a Mother” (literal title). Also cast in major supporting character roles are Eiko Koike and Yuka Itaya. All three will play mother roles. In the drama series, Erika Sawajiri will play Yui Kashiwazaki. She came to Tokyo from Hokkaido at the age of 19. After her 3-year-old son was kidnapped, she divorced and lived alone. 9 years later her son comes back. Drama series is directed by Satoru Nakajima and scripted by Fumie Mizuhashi.
