Jun Shison is cast for the lead role in new NTV live-action drama series “Dolmen X” and upcoming live-action film “Dolmen X.” Also cast in major supporting roles are Koudai Asaka, Yuuki Ogoe, Tina Tamashiro, Arata Horii, Ren Kiriyama and Yoshimi Tokui. Both the drama series and movie are based on manga series “Dolmen X” by Yuna Takagi. The movie version will include more scenes of the alien group 15 years after the drama series.

The idol group is named “Dolmen X.” Ren Kiriyama will play actor Shugo Sanemitsu and Yoshimi Tokui will play an entertainment company president.

Dean Fujioka is cast in Fuji TV drama series “The Count of Monte Cristo.” The drama series is based on classic French novel “Le Comte de Monte-Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. Also cast in supporting roles are Tadayoshi Okura (‘Kanjani Eight’), Mizuki Yamamoto, Hirofumi Arai and Katsunori Takahashi. In the drama series, Dean Fujioka will play main character Dan Saimon. He is about to marry the love of his life Sumire Meguro (Mizuki Yamamoto), but he is framed by three people and sent to prison. 15 years later, he returns under a different identity to get revenge on the three people who framed him.

Miki Nakatani is cast for the lead role in upcoming TBS drama series “Anata niwa Kaeru Ie ga Aru.” Also cast in major supporting roles are Hiroshi Tamaki, Yusuke Santamaria and Tae Kimura. The drama series is based on 1994 novel “Anata niwa Kaeru Ie ga Aru” by Fumio Yamamoto. In the drama series, Miki Naktani plays housewife Mayumi Sato. Due to financial reasons, she decides to reenter the workforce. Meanwhile, her husband, played by Hiroshi Tamaki, falls for a client played by Tae Kimura.

Teaser poster and supporting cast announced for upcoming WOWOW sequel drama series “Partner in Darkness 2” starring Nao Matsushita & Arata Furuta. The drama series is based on novel “Henshucho no Joken-Daigo Shinji no Hakuran Suiri Fairu” by Takashi Nagasaki and is a sequel to 2015 WOWOW drama series “Partner in Darkness.” Now cast in supporting roles are Kanji Tsuda, Shunya Shiraishi, Hiroki Konno, Hironobu Komiya, Ryo Iwamatsu, Akiko Yagi, Sei Hiraizumi, Min Tanaka, Yoichi Nukumizu, Toru Nomaguchi, Tomoya Maeno, Kyoko Maya and Leo Morimoto. Story for “Partner in Darkness 2” has a newly appointed manga magazine editor die from a fall from a building. Yuki Mizuno (Nao Matsushita) and Shinji Daigo (Arata Furuta) investigates.

Kazunari Ninomiya is cast in upcoming TBS drama series “Black Pean.” The mystery-medical drama series is based on novel “Black Pean 1988” by Takeru Kaido. Takeru Kaido also wrote the original novel series which movies “The Glorious Team Batista” and drama series “Glory of Team Batista” are based on. In the drama series Kazunari Ninomiya will play main character Seishiro Tokai. He is a talented surgeon, but also quite arrogant. When a new medical device is introduced that replaces the hands of surgeons, Seishiro Tokai reveals dark secrets behind the medical device.
“Black Pean” first airs April, 2018 in Japan.
Kentaro Sakaguchi is cast in Fuji TV drama series “Signal.” The drama series is a remake of 2016 tvN drama series “Signal.” Kentaro Sakaguchi will play the lead role of a young detective in the present day. His character is equivalent to Park Hae-Young (played by Lee Je-Hoon) in the original drama series. Story for the drama series follows two detectives, one from 15 years in past, communicating through a walkie-talkie to solve a serial murder case.

Hiroshi Tachi, Yuki Furukawa and Mari Hoshino are cast in WOWOW drama series “Gohan Taisakushitsu.” The drama series is based on novel “60 Gohan Taisakushitsu” by Tomotake Ishikawa (which will be published March 15, 2018) and directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri. In the drama series, Hiroshi Tachi, Yuki Furukawa and Mari Hoshino will play characters who are part of the Gohan Taisakushitsu (‘Misjudgment Countermeasure Office’). Their job is to reexamine death row convictions to find any false accusations.

Takanori Iwata (‘J Soul Brothers’ and ‘EXILE’) and Erika Toda are cast in new NTV drama series “Gakeppuchi Hotel.” Gakeppuchi in the drama series title means literally “brink of a cliff” and the word is also used to describe a very difficult situation. Story for the drama series will take place at hotel that is long past its glory days and nears bankruptcy. 29-year-old Sana Sakurai (Erika Toda) is the hotel manager and she struggles to revive the hotel. The hotel’s fortune changes when Naoya Ukai (Takanori Iwata) arrives as a guest at the hotel. Ryuichi Inomata directs the drama series.

Tina Tamashiro & Yuta Koseki are cast in live-action drama series “Missions of Love” and live-action movie “Missions of Love.” The drama series version will air sometime this spring on as of yet unspecified network and the live-action film version will be released sometime this summer via distributor T-Joy. Both titles are based on manga “Watashi ni xx Shinasai!” by Ema Toyama and will be directed by Toru Yamamoto. Story for “Missions of Love” will follow Yukino Himuro (Tina Tamashiro) who secretly writes cell phone novels under a pen name. She doesn’t have any experience in love and her novels lack in that aspect. She then discovers a secret of popular male student Shigure Kitami (Yuta Koseki). She decides to blackmail and assigns him “missions of love” to gather experience for her novel.
TBS is now set to air spin-off/sequel live-action drama series “Boys Over Flowers Season 2” this April in Japan. Already announced to star in the drama series are Hana Sugisaki, Sho Hirano and Taishi Nakagawa. The drama series is based on a webcomic “Hana Nochi Hare: Hanadan Next Season” by Yoko Kamio. Story for “Boys Over Flowers Season 2” is set 10 years after the F4 have graduated from Eitoku Academy. A new group is formed at the high school as the school’s condition has deteriorated.
